As I'm new to the forum can someone help me here, please. How long do time limited offers run for? For instance, if I download Driver Magician today (and activate it, of course), but don't actually use it yet, how long will I have before I can no longer use it?
Whilst I'm here, can anyone advise whereabouts on the site I can go to change my password (if that is possible) to one that I can remember. (sorry if this bit shouldn't be on here)

until something mucks up the install, or the first update in most cases.
pm a moderator- like BuBBy up there for password help.

Hi Lyndy24, and welcome to the Forums!
To answer your first question in a little more detail: as long as you download AND install the software by the end of the giveaway period, you can use it (or not) for as long as it's installed on your computer.
Just be careful and do NOT check for updates, or do not let the software automatically check for updates - updating a giveaway more often than not will turn your copy into a trial version, or make it inoperable.

This may be a stupid question, but Driver Magician backs up the drivers so that a new OS install can have all the latest/correct drivers put back correctly, right? And, we can only install Driver Magician until the time is up, right?
If that is true, how will we be able to re-install the latest/correct drivers on the new OS install if we cannot re-install Driver Magician?

Like Suze said . . . be sure to try and disable the "auto-matic" updater during set-up, before you re-connect for sure.
Failure to do so usually results in lost free licensed software of THAT day.Posted 16 years ago # -
usually the trial software can work for restore, so download a copy and put it with the driver pack.

Hi Saunderl, when you back up using driver magician if you set under options to save as self extracting exe you don't need it to reinstall

Thanks for your help. I'll log off in a few minutes whilst I go and get it before I run out of time.
Hope to be back to the forum soon (spent 5 hours yesterday browsing here)Posted 16 years ago # -

This is a copy of the posting also put in the other thread concerning Drive Magician:
Happy to say I've installed Drive Magician and used it. I've also been back into the programme and checked the Registration details, which tell me "this has been registered" (Phew).
It actually seemed a nice easy programme to use and, following the advice given earlier, have saved the backup as a self extracting exe and saved it on a separate drive. Hope I've covered my back nicely. All that remains is to hope I never have to use it!!
Thanks once more for the advice - much appreciated.
