Day 5 of Free game of the Weekday has been posted
You will find details and all the download links by following the link below. I’ve posted three arkanoid games today. Two were previously commercial games, but when sequels were released, they were made abandonware. They are still excellent arkanoids despite being several years old. The third game a 3D freeware version is a little different to the usual 3D arkanoid (you use a cockerel to hit your balls – ‘scuze the play on words – you’ll see if and when you download the game). One of the big differences with this game is you have to beat the time to win the level; which isn’t as easy as it seems. I’ve only progressed two or three levels since originally downloading it a couple of years ago. (though I don’t play it often and my progress is usually lost when I format or upgrade my drives, hence the slow progress).
The games are DXBall, Beatball and Wreckerball Dreams respectively. Beatball comes in two versions, one with and one without the music as the one with the music is quite large for an old arcade game.

I hope you enjoy them. Please give me feedback so that I know I’m on the right track with this project.
Good News:
I’ve already got enough game links to post games for over two months (now approaching 3 months) at 85 games. (which should keep most casual gamers going for quite some time – yesterdays game alone should give the average player several days, if not more game play, before you reach the end of the game and then it’s quite re-playable because you have a good selection of characters you can choose to play in your squad. Each character has its own attributes which may swing a mission one way or the other. Of course if you lose the mission you have to start from the beginning of that mission again. The sequel to Hidden & Dangerous is actually much more up to date, with better rag doll effects, and the characters look a lot more life like as well as the scenery looking much more realistic. Still you’ll have to pay at least $10 for that one.
Anyway, all of the games I’ve been searching out have been tested for viri and other malware. All games have been downloaded from sites tagged as ‘deep green’ by WOT. (deep green is the safest). I’ve tested each downloaded file for viruses and malware using two commercial anti-virus programs, and I’ve played every game I’ve posted to make sure it’s good enough. All of the games in my opinion are quality freeware or abandonware games, and range from software as old as the early 1990’s up to fairly recently. I’ve not included any games from my favorite source though (as yet). That’s the one that gives away commercial software for free. I’m not sure whether I will use it in this project because I’ve posted links to many of those games so many times over in the comments section as well as in these forums I’m sure most who visit these forums will have got most of them
