I'm using Thunder(the most popular download manager in China), FlashGet is cool, too.
I use getright, not the pro version.
Been using it 11 years.
Paid once and still free upgrades all the way.
I also like Opera dl manager.
Since using FreshDownload (free) from http://www.freshdevices.com
more than 4 or 5 years ago, I find it easy to use and fast.
Updates are free too!
Well, I'm pretty happy with Orbit which was mentioned by jlouis7518. It does what I need it to do and can pause and resume downloads which is nice to have.
I use IDM. It downloads almost anything you'd want. (even stuff you wouldn't think it grab). On another note Firefox's download manager is great too and I'd say I use it as much as IDM.
Firefox DownThemAll not try for long but better than the firefox for download's

I recommend two free download manager
Download Accelerator Plus:
http://www.sharewareguide.net/Internet/Download-Managers/download-accelerator-plus.html
Free Download Manager:
http://www.sharewareguide.net/Internet/Download-Managers/free-download-manager.html
I Used the "Star Downloader":
http://www.pcfreunde.de/download/d4480/stardownloader/43638-YMdaHO2tmR/
But the support quit developing this downloadmanager...
So I swapped first to "Free Downloadmanager":
http://www.pcfreunde.de/download/d9620/free-download-manager/43638-QbyjAkHVja/
And finally to the "Orbit Downloader":
http://www.pcfreunde.de/download/d16133/orbit-downloader/43638-g7UEeWnMrf/
The Orbit Downloader is quite good, I think I'll stick to him :)
