I did post this issue in the game discussion but it's rather late and I'm still waiting for moderation so I thought I would post here as well -- it might help other users.
This game seems to have a definite problem. If you watch all the story and dialog segments, you probably haven't even noticed it. Otherwise, you probably have!
Between a friend and myself, we have 4 computers running 3 different operating systems. This game is on all 4 but 2 from today's giveaway and 2 from the older Jenkat setup. All four have the same problem with the oldest operating system having the worst case.
If you click "skip", the game usually (for us always) fails while it's loading the next scene/chapter. The message is just the standard Windows noting a problem and having to shut down the program.
For Windows 8.1, I had to put it in compatibility mode for Windows 7 to even get it to load the game completely the first time. The one machine running Vista seemed to want to crash more often at any kind of loading even without a skip. I noted the same issue when I tried Windows Vista SP2 compatibility mode.
So the only way we could seem to run the game consistently is to play as Windows 7 either direct or in compatibility and let all the dialog and story line run.
The results were the same regardless of whether we used today's game from Playrix or the old Jenkat version. I could force the crash by purposely clicking skip just to see if it would do it -- it did.
A consistent, reproducible, situation tends to make me believe that it is a program bug in how it loads each section.
So the game is playable -- just avoid the skip buttons and you should be OK as far as our limited testing implies. However, I don't promise -- especially the way Vista behaved!
