1 minute review:
This is an intriguing game that I'm going to explore later, so no full review today.
There are no instructions and the installer doesn't install a shortcut. The game is controlled via the keyboard only apart from when you select a destination via the in game map. The options menu is very basic with music, sound and lens flare controls.
There seems to be two levels of play, where you control your movements via a top down map of a couple of imaginary solar systems; though you cannot travel to places outside of the two solar systems, one of which is a binary star. You can toggle between the two views using the space bar. Movement of the spacecraft is via the arrow keys and to navigate around the solar system you go to the map and click on whatever destination you want to go to. You travel via hyper drive to your destination. Enemies appear on the map as stylized drawings of spaceships. You must intercept these before they destroy your repair stations and planets. The left mouse control activates the weapons, but I’ve not been able to work out how to swap between bombs and laser yet. The following are your game controls:
Controls:
• Arrow keys - movement (though thre is limited movement up and down)
• ‘Left CTRL’ - fire
• ‘Space’ - map
• ‘S’ - shields
• ‘W’ - weapon
• Mouse - selection on the map
I was unable to take many screenshots because the game crashed every time I took one, however I have managed to take a screen capture of the menus and both the 2D and 3D aspects of the game.

If you’re not happy with the music you can change it by selecting whatever music you want as an MP3, and renaming it to either of several names. Files go in the following folder (provided you allow the game to be installed to its default location):
C:\games\callsign hunter\CallsignHunter\Nitro\Music
Conclusion:
As I said I’m going to explore this game later. I’m no in the mood to do any reviews today. The game is certainly intriguing, but it lacks any sort of help file so make a note of the control keys. I started the game blind so struggled to control the ship and couldn’t figure out how to fire my weapons (left mouse button). Still, I’m quite happy with this game as it stands so give it a thumb up; however I can’t give it a score until I’ve played it for an hour or so. My recommendation is download it and try it for yourselves. Although I haven’t confirmed it yet I think this game is free standing which means you can save it to a disc and even play it from the disc or a flash drive.
p.s.
With respect to changing the music; just look in the games Nitro folder for the music folder, where you'll find several different music tracks with names like main menu, orbit and flag ship. Ensure that you back up all of the files you are going to replace just in case there is any conflict.
