   I have McAfee Site Advisor running in the background. When I have visited the giveawayoftheday site recently, the 'advisor' icon turns red and it shows the following message pertaining to GAOTD -

   "In our tests, we found downloads on this site that some people consider adware, spyware or other potentially unwanted programs."

   Wonder what that's all about? Any advise from the moderators?

   You may want to have a look at this tread and then form your own opinion from the information that has been given. Personally, I've switched to WOT. :)

   McAfee Site Adviser Says GOD Unsafe
   (p.s. - It's not really GOD, but GOTD! LOL)

   McAfee site adviser rapidly became useless, and I override WOT quite often- and even it doesn't give a peep on many sites I *know* (not guess) have *really* nasty stuff on them including virus droppers in the page code!

   Hi Jerry: I've also switched over to WOT...which says "excellent" for this site, and I do have McAfee on my task bar showing GOTD is in red. Go figure? Here's a link for WOT: http://www.mywot.com/

   My advice Jerry - uninstall all McAfee software from your computer for a happy life. :)

   Many thanks for the kind advise from one and all. I'm looking closely at the WOT website with a view to using it instead of McAfee. Either way, I remain a firm fan of the GAOTD website and its various offerings.

   Showing you just how much they understand about security, McAfee blocked the SANS website, sans.org, as well as giac.org and sans.edu, with their SiteAdvisor application, listing it as a “bad” site. have a look for fun.

   In our tests, we found downloads on this site were free of adware, spyware, and other potentially unwanted programs. so now its all good. Green all go.
