Help!
Normally, when I selected a link of the bookmarks toolbar with a middle click, the site opened in a new tab.
Since a couple of days it insists on opening in a new window.
I installed - uninstalled - reinstalled and played around with some add-ons - but could not find the culprit.
All other links - e.g. from web-pages or the sidebar - open in a tab as usual.
At FF options I have checked "open in tab". Are there any other options I have missed?
E.g. in the bookmarks? It seems I do not see the wood for the trees. Weird...

Hi Graylox,
it sounds like your mouse settings have changed so middle click doesn't do what its supposed to do. If you installed the software that came with the mouse thats where to look, if you are letting vista sort out the mouse settings I'm not sure where they will be, hope you get it sorted.Posted 16 years ago # -
mikerb thank you for trying to help, but I could not find the right software.
Have much to learn about Vista. On the way to the mouse software, I found some other interesting tools, did not know about such nice thingies like "journal" or "yellow memo stickies" or "snipping tool" - sorry, don't know the English names. But no mouse clicking options. Only for the right mouse click.
Thanks again!

graylox- try looking in your control panel, then clicking on mouse. it should open up a mouse properties window which will allow you to change the settings for your buttons.
i just recently learned about this in my class and i discovered so many new options for my mouse.
i hope this helps.

Graylox--
Do you have any Tab add-ons that need to be adjusted? Or, did you look under Tools, Options, Tabs to see if that setting was on Open New Tab or Open New Window?

Hi Gray
• Maybe an about:config setting that changed "mysteriously"?
I had it set to Open on a new Tab for search results, worked fine, then it stopped. I do know nobody changed it, never understood what happened!
Had to go in there & changed the values again.• Or a conflict btwn Add-ons. I had to uninstall one lately, bc of that
Can you check which ones u've added recently, uninstall, see what happens.Still, I think what Funky & Cindy said makes sense.
Peace, Mangoette

mikerb, Funky, Cindy, Manu
thank you all for trying to help.
I was not very fit the last days, so it took some time until I found the culprit :Backgroundimage Saver 0.1.2
http://www.mobe.de/firefox/backgroundsaver
Firefox 1.5 - 3.0
Save or View Backgroundimages (even if they are protected by hiding behind transparent Gifs). Thanks again.
But now has my clipboard disappeared. Not only from the taskbar, even from the program folder ... weird, his name is "Hamsin", if anybody has seen him, please send him back.
That's not the first time something get lost, since I have Vista...

I haven't seen him but that happened to me also Graylox, I had to redownload Clipmarks. If I see Hamsin in my travels I will be sure to send him back. :0

Thanks robm, but he came back - very hungry and repentant. He knows, where the microwave oven stands.
