Thank you to every one. It's now 11 minutes into the 7th June, so I'm already celebrating. Unfortunately, despite having a cabinet full of drinks (mainly different varieties of vodka from Poland plus malt whiskey) I can't drink alcohol due to the morphine I have to take. Well I do have the occassional glass of wine, but even one glass knocks me out.
I'm really touched by the effort you've all made to post greetings and well wishes. It's such things that make this site a fantastic place to visit.
I once paid the equivalent of $150 for a bottle of Brandy and over $200 for a bottle of malt whiskey. The shop had a bottle of brandy selling for over $4000. I was supposed to be from the time of Napoleon (or so they said). I went through a phase of buying such things when I had the spare cash to throw away. The horriblest drink I ever purchased was a bottle of Absynth when it was first reintroduced back into th UK (It had been banned for many years until about 10 years ago. I remember paying about $100 for it and realized when I'd taken my first shot that I'd wasted my money. The best was a $120 bottle of port wine that went down really well after a nice meal. Though I'd never dream of spending so much on a bottle of drink now.
