48 years young - I feel young - and I don't look a day over "16", literally. :)

I am 57, but feel like 107 some of you can relate.

" Am I the youngest one here?"
Yes, Chip, I believe you are. Furthermore - and I can't believe I'm actually sharing this info...lol. I just did the math, and at 57 years old, I could actually be your grandmother (remember that PM where I mentioned about being old enough to be your mother?). I have a son who will be 38 in December; that's where the math came in, btw. Now, *that's* enough to make *anyone* feel old...lol. I do have 2 significantly younger sons to help keep me feeling somewhat younger, even though the youngest likes to remind me I am getting old...er. He says, sometimes, *he* feels old, and I just look at him and say **you're** old; do you realize who you are saying that to, silly!!? LOL

RosnSC, I bet at 57 you could still run circles around most of these young people today. I have nothing against the younger generation, it just seems like they have no motivation.
Posted 14 years ago # -
Well I'm highly motivated. Currently taking up computer graphic arts in college and about to go into my second year. Also I've been eating healthy and exercising lately and lost 25 pounds! But I hear ya many people my age are highly unmotivated to do much of anything. Whether it's drugs, laziness or a bit of both. My old high school was actually known by the police as "Heroin High" lol. But there are some of us youngins that are motivated which is good. Cause if none of use were motivated the world would fall apart as we know it as time goes on haha. Like that saying "The children are are future" or something like that. It is true because people retire and new people move on in. So if I'm the youngest....who's the oldest here. Although no one would want to admit they are the oldest probably lol

So far, I think I am.

Chip, I congratulate you on following the right path, in this day and age it is very hard to do. Sounds like you have a good idea what you want out of life. Remember it is easier to talk than to walk, think and discuss your next step with someone who has been there. Allot of us here are happy to help if and when you ever need us.
Posted 14 years ago # -
Yes, it's good to hear that Chip knows his way.
I'm not so pessimistic looking at our young people. I had and have lots of younger people around me, and though not all of them are millionaires or doctors today, they all succeeded in life. I remember quite well, how my parents' generation spoke about the ill-bred children, and even we, who fell for that "horrible Ami-Music" (they had an even more drastic word for it) mastered our life.
Now I'm happy to see my grand children growing up.Posted 14 years ago # -

Mittens, I'm a May baby, too. What day is yours? Mine is the same day as your age is. :)
Posted 14 years ago # -
I just turned 57 but I'm the opposite of Copmom.....I could pass for.....60 something. My hairs natural color is gray now....praise God for hair dye!
Arc....and here I thought you were in your 30's!
Awe....now we have 2 kids.....Chip & Mittens. I feel so blessed! Seriously....it's great to have you both here. The best times of my teenage years were the ones I spent around older people. I hope we can be as much of an encouragement to you as they were to me.
