have just downloaded this, but get a message that my system does not support pixel shaders. Is this related to my graphics card or is there anything I can download to correct the problem. thanks

Hi JoyB, Yes, Pixel Shaders does relate to your graphic card. To check what you have; go to the start menu, click on the run command and type in dxdiag, then click on okay. The dxdiagnostics pane will appear. This will tell you what graphics card and/or graphics chip you have. You can then use this to Google the card, or chip (depends upon wheher you're using a card or a motherboard onboard chip.
You need the following to run Art Studio:
Windows XP/Vista
Microsoft .NET framework 2.0
DirectX 9
Video accelerator card with 'Pixel Shader 2.0' supportI have a spare graphics card going with pixel shader 2 (for free). If you Email admin and ask them to Email me with your Email, Your welcome to have the card. I've offered it previously, but those I've offered it to have declined. You'll need to make sure your motherboard (MoBo) supports AGP though. If your computer is relatively new (ie less than two years old) then it's likely your MoBo has PCI-E sockets as opposed to AGP (though not necessarily as at least one manufacturer is still making AGP socket based MoBo's. If you're not sure, open the computer case and look at the MoBo model number and Google it for details of it's specifications, or bring up images of AGP and PC!-E sockets and compare them to what your computer has.

When I use the Teck Power Up, the Graphics Card screen says shaders : 4 Pixel/1 Vertex, am I looking in the right area? I meet all other requirements, including M$ 2.0 dot Net Framework. This is my laptop. Desktop reads: 4 Pixel/2 Vertex.
Both Dells run XP Media Center.
Thanks, Suki

No. To the right - DirectX Support. eg. Mine says 10.0/ SM4.0 so it is shader model 4.0 Screenshot
If you look at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pixel_shader
The leftmost column shows the PS Version - anything in the row with PS Ver 2 or below should be suitable.Posted 16 years ago # -
Ok
Both dells state: 9.0/SM2.0, so I should be fine then? Thanks much for the link!!!
My Husbands Compaq has 9.0/SM3.0, lol......that was a cheap tower I bought from Wal-Mart, but he has GeForce.
Thanks again, Suki

Grrrrr. I have downloaded this twice and set it up twice. I did the activate, the little page came up about activation and adding the GAOTD to your favs..etc, then the setup.msi, got the GAOTD page to come up. I DO read the readme.txt each time as sometimes they slip a cog in the wheel sometimes that upsets the apple cart. And I have been using GAOTD since Jan of 2007 so it is not like I don't know how to set up the software or a game.
The program comes up and...........But for the life of me, I can't find where it says it is registered. It is usually in the "About" section. Nope ..not today. I always check for that. Am I nuts..or....it just doesn't say? Usually if that happens, then there is mention on the comments page. I didn't see anything.
Any suggestions..or is it just one of those "Hidden Regs"?

I couldn't see it registered anywhere either, even checked license!
I would think it is, no trial pop-up came up?
