Dare.....Thanks for the post/info. I'm all signed up and ready to win......(I can dream can't I?)
when will we know/ get the card?
Hope y'all realize that when dare87 said they give away one item a week, it was a very accurate statement. This week the give away consists of 1 lousy card. Not one for every applicant who fills out a registration form and answers a questionnaire. Just 1 card to whomever they decide to give it to. Maybe a family friend. Basically the site collects email addresses. That's how it was explained to me anyway by a representative. There was no oversight mentioned nor any statement of odds of 'winning' that one card.
I don't mean to rain on the parade but this is how they get email addresses to send you junk mail and spam. I would suggest that you do not give them your regular email address. You could get (if you haven't already) a webmail address to use for things like this. There is gmail, hotmail, yahoo, and mail.com just to name a few. I use a webmail address anytime I sign up at a website. I also wouldn't give them your home address and phone number until you win something.
There is also a thread in the forums about a phishing spam email that creamypretzel recieved.
In case you can't find the phishing spam thread:

Did you read the website?
"Your address/phone is requested but not required. We ask for it so that we will have your information if you win a contest. We will not sell/trade/lend any of your registration information to any other company. Your address and phone may need to be given to delivery companies at time of shipping."
Would it not be better to contact the winner via email - and get their delivery address, once they have been identified as the weekly prize winner? - rather than expecting everybody to provide personal information. If you are only giving away one prize a week - then surely you only need one delivery address per week?
I read the website info, I read the FAQ's I read the stuff on the website that Dare posted (2 posts ago), I checked out everything I could possibly check out, and decided to sign up. Anyone who doesn't check things out before signing up for ANYTHING online is, being blunt, a dummy. However, I do have a web based email address, and I said all that to say this....Gmail is fantastic. We use the Gmail account for everything so Gmail can "do it's thing" on spam, then whatever is "OK" is sent to our ISP address, then our ISP also does some filtering, then the mail comes to our Outlook inbox. We get very little spam anymore. What little does come through is caught be Bit Defender and/or the Junk Mail filter. Plus, if we're away from home we can log into Gmail and see what mail we have because we set it up so after forwarding to our ISP it holds everything for 30 days before deleting. We've been doing this for well over a year now and it's working great! I reccommend it highly.
