apparently McAfee SiteAdvisor has tagged GOTD's website as red. Maybe the GOTD's staff could tell SiteAdvisor about the error?

Maybe McAfee should learn how to code software so it works correctly.
I am sure McAfee are jealous as we get more visitors than they do.

I wouldn't knock McAfee in this case as they are correct in what they report, don't shoot the messenger, Maybe it would be helpful if the links that McAfee found were removed from the freeware library as they ARE TROJANS, the details of what McAfee found are as follows:
"downloadpspgames.exe FOUND: BackDoor-AWQ trojan"
"freeinternetarcadegames.exe FOUND: BackDoor-AWQ trojan"
"freepspmovies.exe FOUND: BackDoor-AWQ trojan"

Well WOT (Web of Trust) http://www.mywot.com reports that visitors to this site have giving a Green/Excellent rating to this site - in the areas of Trustworthiness, Vendor Reliability, Privacy and Child Safety.
If a single file contains a virus or a trojan - I don't want to blacklist the entire site - and if I just so happen to download an infected file, well that's why I run NOD32 AntiVirus, Spybot, Spyware Blaster, and a-squared.
Install WOT as well - if you happen to be getting bullied by SiteAdvisor. You can run both at the same time - then you can decide what type of "advice" you want to listen to.
The WOT Blog.

Also I've just had a look at these files - none of the files actually reside on Giveawayoftheday.com file servers - It appears an external third party has submitted these files to the freeware library - and linked to them offsite.
All of the infected files are hosted on "http://bestnzb.com"
At any rate, I have passed this info onto the GOTD Team - to remove any references to the bestnzb.com site (hopefully any other files that might be hosted there also).

BuBBy, that would be a good idea.... removing those references. I just noticed myself that my McAfee SiteAdvisor has this listed in red, and that's not happened before.
After that listing as shown above, it does also have:
Linked to green sites
When we visited this site, we found that most of its links are to sites which are safe or have only minor safety/annoyance issues.

@copmom, i agree. removing those links from GOTD's forums

I'll install this on the front room computer jic it performs well and a different kind of safety belt.

We had McAfee for a year and it drove me nuts. It caused more peoblems than it found. Now we use Bit Defender. We also run PC Tools antivirus, Spyware Doctor, Threatfire, and Spy Sweeper all of which were free and are working fine. Bit Def is the only one I ever deal with, hubby handles all the rest but there are no more issue/problems since we gave McAfee the boot.

Backdoor-AWQ Trojan, only four of them, but i for one will not worry about them, Adware
thats all, and three were for Games and the other PSPmovies.exe, not from this site, and
would i consider these as Trojans, "well NO" ,Advertising Yes,Adware Yes, but harmful NO,
Most Games you download and play will connect to the source to introduce you to further
games on offer, your Firewall will ask do you wish to allow or deny, do so a few times
and no further connection will take place, heavy handed by McAfee yes, re classify what
is a Trojan, maybe, lots of programs have a file within a file, like updates and so,
you all know this, so dont worry about it, just look at McAfee in a diffirent light,
dimmer perhaps!

Nice one BuBBY ! since my post last night i took up your tip, i installed WOT ( Web Of Trust ) and of course my own choice was to ununstall McAfee Site Advisor, i was asked what was my reason, in short i said as long as i was visiting and downloading from GOTD i never
had a bad download and the links classed as Trojan/Adware did not reside on the site but were games when played linked back to the developer to display further games they had on offer and that most security programs link back to the developer to upgrade! anyway it wont bother those of us who know that a Trojan/Adware is not any harm, just an annoyance.
I am waiting for a reply from McAfee ? i could be waiting ?Paulga

Let me also add my Thank-you to you BuBBy.
I installed WOT and will see how it works for me. Having a reliable security system is something I am striving for. Being a novice to the ways of the computer and the internet, I have been reading these forums and all the great info from you and all the nice people here. I have learned some - just enough to be dangerous - but am very poor at understanding how to put a lot of the info into practice. Maybe someday, if I live that long - LOL, I will be able to do the things I need to and would like to do.
Again thanks to all who so generously give links, threads, advice, how-to's, info, etc., and especially their time.
