O, Maizey, I never liked those poopy diapers, but without them, I would never have got my fantastic in-law and grand-children. :)

Sorry Maizey, forgot the pictures from the pier:

Graylox, that place looks beautiful! I'll bet it's twice as nice in the summer. I like "Steg2" the best. The water looks rough/choppy in "Mauer".

very nice indeed. I need to get over to the coast. lots of cool pictures to be taken.
I'd sure like full size shots- closest to Sweden I'll ever get.

I like to go out when the weather is a bit rough. But most of the pictures that day were wiggly.
Maizey, was that a "loud shout"? Then you have to release your "you-know-what"Posted 16 years ago # -
graylox, it will come...I think.
Posted 16 years ago # -
there is an appeal to 'troubled waters'.
graylox, this sort of thing was what I was thinking of to take the weight off your hands.

that gabby would have been arrested nowadays, assaulting a baby he doesn't know. lol!
for all my tool-loving friends i made a fun post in the tool thread:
i'm posting the link here, because i didn't see goodguy over at the other thread and i think he'll (you'll) enjoy this.

Thank you goody for the tip. But it's not only a problem for my hands, I can't carry the camera + lenses + tripod + this tool + provisions + water bottle + coffeepot + dsl cable + your picture + lipstick + cellphone + hairdryer + you know what we gals need
Posted 16 years ago # -
Maizey, I have to try that. Even I must be able to "produce" it.
BTW, I think you have to shout louder.
Posted 16 years ago # -
I thought the answer to that was a big purse?
I have a bigger one if I needed room for a dslr... swiss miltary surplus, naturally.

dum-dee-dum... well, here's G What is it 030.

hotdog without ketchup
Posted 16 years ago # -
nope, not edible in the least.
in fact, I'll hint there are 2 different kinds of wood and 2 strips of fiberglass in the picture.
Posted 16 years ago # -
not a pool cue- this not round though it is tapered. nor an oar.
it is usually used outdoors, though rarely on water.
oooh, where did I put those cue sticks? hmmm..
sorry about the lousy focus, hadn't noticed. I'll try and get a better one. 'nother 4 hours and then I'll be gone most of the day. yearly doc's visit.

here's a better shot of G What is it 030.
much better. that first one was pathetic.

goody.. is it some sort of a handle like for a rake or shovel?
maizey.. great suggestion for the $1 image stabilizer for camera!!! Less clunky to carry around than a tripod!Posted 16 years ago # -
no, not a handle. this item is held about 8 inches or a bit more from this point, (in the direction of the wider part) and this is a shot from the side.
Posted 16 years ago # -
Maizey.....Love the $1 Image stabilizer, I gotta try that out. The type of pictures we usually take are "on the go" type like while vacationing and we just can't take a tripod. Even if we did there wouldn't be time to set it up, but if this little ditty works it would be great. Thanks for sharing.
Goody....I tried the big purse thing but discovered the bigger it was the more I tried to carry. Got to the point I couldn't even pick the darn thing up. Even now with my much smaller one every time hubby picks it up he says something like, "Geez what do you have in this thing, a brick"?! I just tell him it's my protection.....if anyone ever tries to do anything to me all I have to do is hit them with it and they'll be out for hours :)
Posted 16 years ago # -
Gee, that sounds a lot like MY purse. When we grocery shop, hubby always asks if I'd like to put it in the basket and take a load off my shoulder! Once at the PO I weighed my little change purse that's in the purse, and it weighed over a pound!

well, this is my travel pack for my books (still the main use for the laptop) and I have the power brick mounted in the front, and there's room for a pair of earbuds, the card reader, hub, finger mouse and usb nic, (simpler to leave 'em plugged together) plus the camera accessory case (permanently mounted power brick, 6 spare pairs of AA batteries, a spare memory card, lens cleaning brush) and paper and pen for notes. Never even look at magazines in waiting rooms.
I leave the 75 watt inverter (if the car is running, the laptop and camera are powered, long trips- no problem) under the front seat of the car, plus the C200 so if terri needs to take a shot while out (accident documentation, whatever) she can. Alkaline batteries so they won't self drain.
any more guesses?

Is it a gun barrel?
Oh, here's something for you to try:
http://audubon.org/gbbc/game/index.phpSmall changes in photographs can be difficult to see. Unless you really study a photograph, you may miss them.
Of course, spotting differences in pictures is a popular child's game. And it is a good way to teach children to be attentive to life's details.
With that in mind, check out Eagle Eyes. It's a game developed by Audubon and the Cornell Lab of Ornithology.
You're presented with five groups of two photographs. You have to spot five differences in between the photos in each group. It's easier than it sounds.
As you may have guessed, the photos are mostly of birds. The photos themselves are impressive.
You can choose from several timed versions of the game. Or, you can play without time restrictions. Good luck, eagle eyes! You will be scored!

no....err... a wooden gun barrel?
whatever yer taking, I think I want some.

I haven't tried the camera stabilizer trick yet. The link has been setting in my bookmarks for a couple of months. If someone tries it, let me know how it works for you.
I very, very seldom carry a purse. I hate them. I keep the things I need in the vehicle and put money and/or cards in my pockets. For the cameras I have a form-fitting little case for the Canon, batteries and memory. Then a larger one to hold the Sony FD100, extra battery, memory and charger. If I need to carry more, I make sure to have enough pockets to hold it all.
G30- Is it a part of some lawn furniture? Part of a wheelbarrow?
Posted 16 years ago # -
no, not furniture, this is a weapon,
Posted 16 years ago # -
I say something bad?
Posted 16 years ago # -
i just have no idea what it could be.
