graylox, is it food?
Posted 16 years ago # -
@ maizey a good question. I have heard people eat worms and jellyfish others swords or fire - I wouldn't eat it, don't think you or goody's cats would or should.

graylox, thank you for the book! Have you read it?
Here is a pre-digital picture of my Weezie, when she was a pup, examining fungi.

Thank you Maizey for the pic, I downloaded it without asking. It's to the point as young dogs, and cats, and kids explore the world - but with caution and asking mummy if it's allowed.
Cute.
No, I didn't read the book yet, but I downloaded it. I love expedition annals. In that time people saw the world with other eyes than we "modern" people. I read quite a lot of old expedition reports from Scandinavia, and buy them on every flea market or garage sale
in Sweden I can find.

What Is It ? Gray #03 :Posted 16 years ago # -
morning all.. gray #03, is it a blob of jelly? (Gee for some reason I'm not to happy seeing things like that look bloody red right now!
Posted 16 years ago # -
I like reading old books on the history of different places. I really enjoy those about local areas. I had one rare book, that my ex-husband kept, which was written in the late 1800's and was about the people and places in my county and a few surrounding counties. There were old long-gone logging towns in the area. I used to take a small shovel and a metal detector to these places to find treasures. The places where people were apt to dump their trash (usually downhill from house foundations) were great places to find old pottery, glass bottles, bits of decorative cast metal, old food tins, etc.. This year they are going to release much of the water from a large reservoir not to far from me. There used to be two small towns that are currently underwater. I may go treasure hunting again. I've found pieces of old china and china dolls in this place before when the water was low.
________________________Gray#3- Is the objects color supposed to be red/pink? Is the really red area the background or part of the object?
Posted 16 years ago # -
Good morning copmom. did you sleep well ?
My day is now 32.5 hours, and I'm not tired at all. But I think I'll try to sleep one or two hours - only to please my doc.Gray # 03 is red but not bloody, and it's not a blob and not made of jelly.
Posted 16 years ago # -
Yep, slept well thank you, but I think my neck has a crick in it now from sleeping wrong!
Gray #03.. a slice of ruby red grapefruit?
Gee maizey, that sounds fun finding goodies in old places. When do you have time to go treasure hunting.. unless you bring a laptop with you? LOL We've got a metal detector out in the shed from years ago. We've found that handy finding beams/studs in the walls when hanging pictures/shelves, etc.Posted 16 years ago # -
Gray#3- Looks almost like spun threads. A cocoon?
Posted 16 years ago # -
So, back again, had to ear something.
Maizey, the color can be variable from one "individual" to the next. But there are always minimum 2 colors. The red area is part of the object. - Not spun thread, not a cocoon.

Your archaeological expeditions must be really an adventure. We did that too, during our Sweden holidays. The kids was always eagerly searching and exploring. In the forests are a lot of abandoned cottages and in addition fortifications from 1600+. There we found an old bullet, 2cm in diameter. Metal detectors are not allowed. People have destroyed too many archaeological sites.Posted 16 years ago # -
Boys and Girls you must play all alone now.
I'll have to go for some hours. See you later...Posted 16 years ago # -
segment of pink grapefruit?
Posted 16 years ago # -
Gray#03....is it part of a flower?
Posted 16 years ago # -
Whoouuuaaaooouuuhhh, 5 hours have gone, RL can really be demanding...
No Goody, no grapefruite
and yes, Buckley it's a part of a flower.Posted 16 years ago # -
tulip or rose? they're not blooming here yet, but...
Posted 16 years ago # -
graylox, it would be more exciting to find some ancient treasure in your country. Our country's civilization is so much younger. I can imagine that there are many greedy looters who more than willing to destroy these sites. Too bad.
Gray#3 - a tulip?
Posted 16 years ago # -
Congrats ! We have two winners :
maizeydaze Posted 33 minutes ago & goodgotd Posted 38 minutes agohttp://i244.photobucket.com/albums/gg31/graylox/gray03Tulip.jpg
goody, this tulip is a memory spring 2007 in Sweden, but they start flowering now again here.
And this is your prize :Posted 16 years ago # -
here the tulips are near full bud but not opening- I'm waiting to pounce with my new-old brownie- and the roses haven't gotten near that far, alas.
a .80 cal bullet? Smooth bore or rifled ball or MiniƩ type? (just noticed and went back to read)
Posted 16 years ago # -
Are you feeling up to a new round of "What Is It ?"
Gray # 04http://i244.photobucket.com/albums/gg31/graylox/Gray04/1.jpg
goody, I have no clue what this bullet is. For me its only a rusty bullet, with a holiday memory and a story, which the kids had conceived many years ago.
