G23 - artichoke?
Posted 16 years ago # -
no, not artichoke.
Posted 16 years ago # -
G23 - asparagus?
Posted 16 years ago # -
that was fast- it is indeed asparagus!
how about a mini shadowbox, plus some
pewter kittens in front, and a
computer bug for dessert?Posted 16 years ago # -
Thanks, goody! The bug is so cute! Did you build him?
Posted 16 years ago # -
no, picked that up at a 98 cent store in california. someplace I should have another dozen or so.
terri and I got stuff like that, bamboo houses, miniature furniture and so on for xmas office gifts so everyone got something similar but unique.
worked out rather well. those agate eggs came from similar sources.

Goody, I've got some things similar to your decorative items:

cool. you had an agate egg all along.
Posted 16 years ago # -
Goody, I picked the egg up at a yard sale awhile back.
_________________________________________________________Graylox, I meant to tell you that I like your fossil. Did you find it? There are plenty of shell fossils around my house, but none of them is a spiral shape like yours. I have a nice piece of petrified wood that hubby got white wash on when he was painting the foundation. It made me sad. I don't think that I can get it off.

Maizeydaze try non-acetate fingernail polish remover. If the paint was acrylic, it might work for you.
Posted 16 years ago # -
ldahl, thanks for the tip. Maybe I'll give that a try. I've never bought non-acetate remover. Is it common? I don't even know why I have polish remover..don't wear polish?
Posted 16 years ago # -
I think it is easy to find and inexpensive. It is made for fake nails:)))) I use it to remove dried acrylic paint. Use a cotton ball and put some on an area that won't show too much to give it a try. Sponge it off with a dry paper towel and repeat until the paint is gone... then wash with dish soap and warm water. Use q-tips or cotton on a toothpick or an orange stick for tight areas. Make hubby spring for the buck the remover will cost you:)))!

Hello allllll! Been a busy day. Most of the afternoon was taken up at the surgeons office. Hubby had a huge 'sebaceous cyst' removed from right in the middle of his back today right above the spine. He saw the regular Dr. over a week ago when it was small (about dime size) he referred to the surgeon, today was the 1st day he could see the surgeon and today it was larger than a silver dollar! And now it was infected! Grrrrr Then to top things off we just watched Dr. Phil and it was about that infection called MRSA, some of the things they said downright made us look at each other and say uh, oh! Got a very high potency antibiotic for him to take.
Since we didn't get out of there 'til almost 6, got Chinese take out for supper, stuffed those containers full enough that we'll eat 2nds on Thurs.
Been trying to catch up on all the posts. I've got 2 of those eggs here, we used to use them to darn socks with!
Looks like divshare.com is the one you've decided was best to upload to??
And from looking at all the things good has posted, looks like he's investigating everything in his kitchen! LOL I KNEW that staple remover looked familiar, got one sitting right on my desk!Posted 16 years ago # -
looks like the edge of a tin can with a recloseable top, sorta.
more like I have a trio going and want to pay attention to details.
divshare looks good for some things- maybe.
http://www.picattic.com seems the champ for big pixel and meg size, very basic no-frills space that takes mpeg too- but not knowing the limits (no reply yet to asking) is unsettling until I work with it a while.
http://www.fuzzyimagehosting.com looks ok but free is pretty limited.
that's the usual job of the egg that's handiest- but if I can get a cool photo or effect, I'll try it. like this.
that's not an egg, but is a rock.
kitchen, curio cabinet, you name it, I'll shoot it.
Posted 16 years ago # -
ldahl, thanks again for the instructions and info. :)
copmom, I hope your hubbys back gets better. Try not to think about MRSA. It will be okay!
goddy, not a reclosable top tin can.
Never heard of fuzzyimage. I'll have take a look at them. On pacattic, try to upload a large file. If it's too big, you should get a message telling you the max size. Maybe.
Posted 16 years ago # -
MD#43......the edge of the clock you used the other day? :)
Copmom......I saw Dr Phil today too, now remember, he said there was no need for panic. Will keep you both in prayer.
Goody....wow....that rock sure is colorful! Needed to put on my sunspecs...lol
Posted 16 years ago # -
Hi BK, sorry not any part of a clock.
Posted 16 years ago # -
well, that's the one thing picattic doesn't leave in doubt:
"Max file size is set at: 95.830 Megabyte (MB) per file"
Allowed File Types: .JPEG, .JPG, .GIF, .PNG, .ICO, .MPG, .MPEG, and .BMPtransfer volume and storage space are the questions.
Here is a wider crop (not the entire frame, though) of that photo.
It's backlit with a single 8000 mcd red LED with a 45 degree viewing angle.
one of my solar-powered nightlights, in fact.
The EXIF info (I leave it in place) says it's a 2 second exposure (max for this camera) at f 2.9.
btw, paint remover, acetone, etc. (I'm partial to berryman B-12 carb cleaner and goof-off for paint destruction) shouldn't affect petrified wood in the least. It's usually quartz or related silicates, short of acid it should snicker at most solvents.
Maizey, looking closer, more like the rim of a pan.
Posted 16 years ago # -
what's with dr phil? he finally blab about methacillin-resistant staph?
Posted 16 years ago # -
or a lid on top of a pan.. that could be a handle jutting up on the left.
Posted 16 years ago # -
goody, not the rim of a pan. either.
I don't watch Dr. Phil.

g'nig... what is this, a walton's rerun?
Posted 16 years ago # -
copmom- i'm sure your man will be fine, at least you were able to get in and get it removed. i'll be thinking of you both.
night all.
:DPosted 16 years ago # -
goody, I chuckled at your reference to the Walton's last night but was too tired to respond. So, ha, ha, ha! LOL :D
Okay, it wasn't that funny. But it still made me smile. :)
Posted 16 years ago # -
good.. that rock sure looks like it's blood on a slide! Sure you didn't kill anyone with that rock?
MD#43, the edge of a pot lid?
My man should be just fine.. I've got the job of 'nurse' cleaning his would daily and redressing it, since he can't get right smack dab in the middle of his back! Woe is me!
And y'all really should have said, "good night John Boy", "good night Mary Jane", etc. P-)
Posted 16 years ago # -
Morning copmom! Naw, #43 has nothing to do pots or pans.
Yeah, I thought it would be kind of me to sign-off last night, so goody would know I was gone. Tonight I'll do it proper:
Posted 16 years ago # -
it'll be a while b4 I'm back on-line, but I can knock the bloody rock idea over the head.
it's just the light- here it is with white LEDs under it.
terri swears it looks like lava.
