G-Night all!

Buckleysmom, good for you! You have more patience than I did for the gnomes.
Hint for MD#30: They can lay in your outstretched hand but not fit inside a closed hand.
Nighty-night!

aw, nutz, I wanted you to check the slides thread. darn gateway.
that's 2 hints- size and plural.

Hi All,
my sleepy head knows (???) what MD#30 could be, but I have no clue what the name is. I'm not a techi and don't even know how to describe it in German but lets have a try (Goody, please don't laugh too loud over my silliness):
it looks like a ???bearing ???, ???slide rail ???, ???table-track???
those "things looking like blinds" could be for a ???toothed wheel???, ???gear-wheel???
can't find more in my dic
something to install / secure and adjust perhaps a camera on a tripodPosted 16 years ago # -
Good Morning Sleepyhead (graylox)! I believe you are on the wrong track. These are very common. I know you have some.
Posted 16 years ago # -
"Sleepyhead" - ehm ? Okay I forgive you, 'cause you are sooooooooo right, even after the third big cup of coffee.
My guess : klingonian tooth-brush
Posted 16 years ago # -
graylox, perhaps you need more sleep or less vivid dreams or less old Star Trek episodes. I know you will give me a "chewing out" for the last one. It is not directly related to Klingons or toothbrushes. :)
Posted 16 years ago # -
something like a flat strip, corrugated back and forth very tightly, on some sort of backing... some sort of buffing or polishing strips?
Posted 16 years ago # -
Hey maizey you tell me to have more sleep ? Look at the clock !
But it's nice, that you are here. Please don't take away my dreams. Star trek episodes - wasn't so many the last time, more MDHouse; am a great fan of him, could become his groupie ;-)
MD#30 I have no clue at all. Your tip excludes blinds - so I really don't knowPosted 16 years ago # -
These are plastic.
Posted 16 years ago # -
that doesn't lighten it a bit
Posted 16 years ago # -
Look on or around your desk. I'm sure there is something that looks similar.
Posted 16 years ago # -
YEAH ! those ripples on the sites of jewel cases
Posted 16 years ago # -
graylox, Yes they are! You won yet another time! :)
Once upon a time there was a peaceful nation of 'doggs.' They were living in a small castle that could use a little upgrade. Will you help these 'doggs' to upgrade their castle? In each level 'doggs' will walk to the castle, just make them bring the needed blocks. Use your mouse.

wufff-wufff bark-bark
what does American dogs say ???Posted 16 years ago # -
Boy maizey.. you're sure digging mighty deep for some of those 'what is it' items! graylox is beginning to catch on to you! LOL
Posted 16 years ago # -
woff-woff, wuff-wuff, bark-bark, roof-roof, yipe-yipe, yap-yap and scooby-dooby-do. Er redet doch allen nach dem Mund.
Posted 16 years ago # -
Warum muss ich mich hier so anstrengen mit meinem Wörterbuch ?
When you are speaking German perfectly ?
Danke, maizeydaze für Deine Mühe und Anstrengung, uns zu unterhalten.Posted 16 years ago # -
Sie werden noch Ihr Wörterbuch brauchen. Ich spreche German nicht. Es war keine Schwierigkeiten. Ich verwendete eine freie On-Line-Übersetzung. http://translation2.paralink.com/
Sometimes it is not so perfect! :)

You guys just continue to amaze me. I'm readin those german lines saying, hey wait, that's not fair, some of us don't speak german. Then low n behold you give the translation page......I should have guessed. And you, Maizey, with the jewel cases....tricky, tricky.
I was a good girl today, I did my work before coming here because I always find something new and then my work doesn't get done....naughty me. So today it's the doggie game. That is so cute, gotta go play some more......but I'll do a litlle more work first.....and maybe eat some breakfast.....after all it is 12:05 pm. Be back later! Maybe by then #31 will be up? I keep looking at things and wondering how I could take a pic of it and distort it for this forum......one of these days I'll surprise you with a "what is it" for you.....but don't hold your breath cause it might have to wait for that new B-Day camera.
Posted 16 years ago # -
Buckleysmom, it's funny, that translator is not too good.
Er redet doch allen nach dem Mund. should read: He tells everybody what they want to hear. But the translator says: Nevertheless, he talks to all after the mouth. So I don't know exactly what I said in my last post to graylox. :)BTW, you don't want to "distort" a picture, but enlarge a section of a picture. Do you have a graphics program that can do that? I gave an idea on what could be done if you don't have good camera. Here's the post: Just an idea.
Posted 16 years ago # -
suckered! I don't use jewel cases!
get the foxlingo add-on for firefox, it gives you a range of translation engines so using 2 or 3 you might make better sense of it.
Posted 16 years ago # -
Maizey.....Yeh, I knew you were enlarging them, but is that the only way to do it? Couldn't you use a filter of some sort too? I'll check out your "Just an idea" in a second. My camera is an old Sony Mavica MVC-FD75. It's the kind that takes a 3" floppy instead of a card, but I've been having some trouble with it. We were at a concert and hubby took my picture while I stood with a couple of the (good looking - much younger ha ha) singers and on the last picture something happened and the whole disk of 32 pictures was lost. It's happened a few times since but the other disks weren't completely full so I've every time I think of taking a picture I kinda cringe and give the camera a dirty look as I slither quietly away. I think Buckley's glad about the whole thing cause he's sick of being my main subject.
Oh, and yes, I have Paint Shop Pro 10X which I use the most, I also have Picasa2 and Microsodt Digital Image Suite9 (which I haven't even looked at yet - too busy playing games).
Posted 16 years ago # -
it's hard to get reliable floppies these days imho, I've done away with 'em for my stuff. too bad the MVC-FD75 can't take a memory stick in an adapter.

hey graylox.. do you have a best friend named Watson? Because hubby and I have a suspicion that your real name is Sherlock!
Hey, goodgotd, that's a GREAT idea.. we need to find someplace that can make adaptors for our 'obsolete' cards! Like my 'smart media card'.. it would make my search so much easier if I could find an All in 1 printer that would adapt to what I have instead of me having to find one that will 'allow' me to use what I do have!!!

Copmom....ever have the feeling you're repeating yourself....hee hee hee....sorry but I just couldn't help poking fun at you......especially since I know so well what it's like.
I recently got an HP Photosmart C6280 all-in-one that has 4 different slots for cards. The ad boasted that it would take "all" cards either via the 4 slots or with additional adapters. The slots show; CF, SD-MMC, XD, MS/DUO. Maybe you should check it out. Or let me know what info you need and I'll see what the manual/guide says about it.
Good.....yeh, floppies are a PITN. One of the main reasons I went for this camera was that at the time it was the only one with a 10X optical zoom, but there are quite a few models now that have that.
Posted 16 years ago # -
Buckleysmom-
I have Paint Shop Pro
I think it's under 'image', called 'resize'. Not 'enlarge'- xnview's the same way.
"all" cards either via the 4 slots or with additional adapters. The slots show; CF, SD-MMC, XD, MS/DUO
the adapters are for mini and micro secure digital and reduced size multimedia cards, to make them fit.
It looks like xD and smartmedia go in the same slot. 1" wide and real thin.
copmom- they're called card readers. and adapt to USB.
The memory stick/floppy adapter was only by sony, for higher-cost model mavicas.

yeah, even geeks has the Kodak EasyShare Z712 7.1MP 12x Optical Zoom Camera for $159.50 refurbished, with image stabilization.
I think that mavica is 1/3 megapixel- 640x480.
this M517 (geeks is sold out, they still have the M417's) 5.2 mp is 2620x1984 pixels- that Z712 7.1mp is 3072 × 2048.
ebay has a used Panasonic DMC-TZ1 5.0 Mp 10x optical zoom for $119.99, open-box SONY Cyber-shot DSC-H3 8.1 MP 10x Optical Zoom's can be had for ~200...
