graylox, you are hilarious! I won't tell a soul...sorry about the picture.
Anyway, YOU WON AGAIN!! It's a toad in my yard. I love these little guys/gals. I have one who lives in the pavilion that has been here for 9 years.
I believe that you may have been a witness of a crime scene. Please identify the criminals.

maizeydaze thank you for the game and especially for the toad. I love them too. We have collected frogs and toads since the birth of my daughter. But only pics and stuffed animals. During our vacations in Sweden, we observed always the respective live cycle of them. Under the front-door steps at our vacation cottage there lived for some years a rather big toad; we have fed him/her. Now my daughter has a toad in their garden and the grandkids observe him/her; to be continued...

Must share something with y'all! Went to Dr. w/hubby yesterday, waited in the little room, and I was just telling him about the "what is it" picture of the 3 little red balls (stick matches). Said first all you saw was 3 little red balls, so he guessed balls on an orangutan (sp?) monkey.. well, just as we were saying that the Dr. walked into the room right in the midst of our conversation. We couldn't stop laughing and he must have thought we were both nuts! Didn't even bother trying to explain! LOL

Oh, copmom! I'll bet your faces were red too! :D

graylox, you are close enough again. I'm not aware of the types of animal life in your country. I know you have salamanders but I don't know if any of the younger ones look like this. The adults are greenish brown here. The picture is of a Red-spotted newt.
The Newt is an amphibian of the Salamandridae family, order Urodela or Caudata, found in North America, Europe, and Asia. Their eggs are laid singly in ponds or slow-moving streams, attached to aquatic plants. This distinguishes them from the free-floating eggs of frogs, that are laid in clumps, or toads, that are laid in strings. The larvae leave the water as a terrestrial form called an eft, returning to the water when mature to live or to breed. The adult form has a lizard-like body and is either aquatic or semi-aquatic.
This one is from Kirby. He is still waiting for his Toupee! :D

graylox, you're really getting sharp lately!
No maizey, our faces weren't red, I think the Dr's. face was, he's beginning to get used to us giving him a hard time!
And I thought #29 was a tomato with a rotten spot! LOLPosted 16 years ago # -
Congrats again Graylox......geez I gotta stop guessing at these things when I'm hungry........everythng looks like food. I won't even tell what I thought about #28. Fortunately by the time I saw the pic the answer was already here.

Hey Maizey that gnome game you gave out last night is driving me insane. I found 9 but can't find that 10th one for the life of me. Did you find them all?
Posted 16 years ago # -
Back from my timeout.
This is the most common Newt here, Maizey, and I think the female looks a bit like yours.
BTW, do you have them as pets ?http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Teichmolch
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smooth_NewtThe toupee is blown with the wind , sorry !

graylox, those are so cute! My grandson has an iguana. Don't think I want to mess with that.. my son got a bad infection when the iguana was on his shoulder and it sneezed in sons face. Those things are full of germs, salmonella, etc.
Posted 16 years ago # -
buckleysmom, I gave up on gnomes after finding 9 too. That last one must be a good hider. I can only find 7 in 10 Gnomes 2:!
graylox, all salamanders, newt and other amphibians and reptiles are wild and free here. I just take their pictures when I can see them.
copmom, a rotten tomato? ;-)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bearded_Dragonmaizey, I can't get that Gnome game at all, it doesn't launch

graylox, try this link. It works for me. http://www.10gnomes.com/02.html
Posted 16 years ago # -
got it at last, it works only with ie-tab in firefox
and then I needed 7 min to recognize how it works, then I found 6 gnomes.
I'm too tired tonight, I'll try it tomorrow. nite-nite zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzPosted 16 years ago # -
busy with other things, today was go pick up meds, the dollar tree for nuke-n-nosh and bubble bath plus odds, and 2 thrift stores. Plus trying to duplicate what made pix vanish off the cards. recovered the ones that mattered, but just why I dunno. too slow a set of SD cards?
found a nice little soft case for my camera, (I have a beckman multimeter case that holds the power brick, spare cards, 3 sets of spare batteries- and the camera- but I needed a separate camera-only protector) and a couple of 1-liter vacuum decanters for coffee- busted my last one that still had vacuum a week ago.
still working on a cheap diffuser. more light and a layer of tracing paper?
Posted 16 years ago # -
graylox, I think grandson's iguana is already at least 4 feet long. That's a far cry different than your granddaughter's Tagge. I know son & grandson already had to build larger quarters for it.
And don't feel bad, I only found 6 gnomes too!

goodgotd - sounds like you made a haul today at the junk stores!
Here is another closeup. It is not an animal! MD-What I It#30

looks like a set of files to me.
did you look at my post over in the digitizing slides thread regarding that rollei?
yeah, 2 decanters for what wal-mart wants for one cheeeeep one (2.99 ea), the case says nikon (49 cents), amn is a bit but that's ok. better than too small. :)
what do you think of a plexi or glass plate with a layer of tracing paper for a diffuser?
Posted 16 years ago # -
goodgotd, Not a set of files.
I'll have to go over to the slide thread and check it out.
Diffuser ideas sound good. just make sure the light isn't too close of too hot. Even that 7 w gets hot in that enclosure.
Posted 16 years ago # -
MD#30.....is that a vent cover, like a heater vent or register?
Posted 16 years ago # -
thats why I suggest a 'twister' florescent- 13w, more area, the aluminum foil dissipates the heat. incandescent is terrible about putting out lots of heat for little visible light.
Posted 16 years ago # -
Buckleysmom - no not that either. I'd bet you have some of these.
Posted 16 years ago # -
MD#30 some sort of screen? Can you give a clue like size?
