well, I'm not certain what else I'm going to use- the audio converter once in a blue moon, but I don't often get DVD's to rip- and since I don't have a standalone DVD player, I don't burn video cd's.
Last time I was doing video rip/burn was last year to find good software for gary- went out and bought a widescreen video recorder that burned miniDVDs- and when he went to edit 'em and couldn't, he dumped the search on me. <sigh>

I got the e-mail with the codes earlier today. I'm not a fan of the software Aimersoft makes but I must say (assuming registration won't expire soon or prompt to update) this giveaway is very generous from the company and a good way to put their name out there. Shhhhhhh! Don't tell a soul, but I think I've just discovered an advanced copy of Chris' next version of Untangler! If I'm right, Bubby won't finish it in under 3 months!
Sigh .. haven't received my software key yet .. and finished the game 2 days ago. Followed BuBBy's suggestion and sent email with screenshots, too! Anyone else having trouble getting a response from the good folks at Aimersoft?
By the way... great game, BuBBy. Thanks for the heads up. It took about 90 minutes to finish the first 14 levels, and about 110 minutes to finish the last five. It's a mindbender, that's for sure.

@bobby- perhaps it's time to re-send?
I just sent the 'you win' shot in jpg and a request for my chosen software.
I did set up a free user account, always restarted the game from the aimersoft link (it adds /?ref=untangleTracking to the game url, fwiw), and mentioned my nonoba username.
Suspenders, belt, and duct tape, that's me.

@BuBBy .. it could happen. My bro is one of those 'pattern masters' GoodGOTD spoke of and there are kids that can solve a Rubik's cube in eight seconds .. eight seconds!
You can count me among those who were darn happy to be able to finish the last level of unTangle! By the 19th level, I was pondering whether Chris (the developer) was exquisitely brilliant or an evil genius. About then, Level 20's pattern pops up ... ohhhh ok .. answered that question!
Did anyone else notice the number of folks playing unTangle, listed at the Nonoba site: three-quarters of a million! That averages to ..what .. three times the amount of players on several other Nonoba games? Says a lot for Giveaway of the Day's widespread influence, methinks.

RunesageMagi - I just got back from Tangler! I had to join and post an entry in the Corrupted Wish Game. What a nifty place. Thanks for finding it.
Maybe I will start a "What Is It?" thread on Tangler. Might get more participants, anyway. I've seen this type of guessing game in a couple of photographic forums and most of the closeups were much more difficult and obscure. Here is one at Photo Camel which has a nicely structured layout.
xboxgamer - That was certainly generous of Aimerisoft to give you their software. I just hope that other, less honest, people don't try to pull this off.

I completed the level 10 and sent off my request, then I completed the game and sent off my request. Twice I did not receive any response. I had included a full screenshot in the first request, and attached a Word document with 3 screenshots for the second request, and then wondered if the Aimersoft e-mail system was blocking large e-mails.
I therefore tried with a different e-mail address and I put the screenshots, vastly reduced, into the main body of the text; the response to that was very quick and I now have my keys.
Aimersoft are to be congratulated and thanked for providing good entertainment and free software as a prize.

Hi, Everybody! I see "dots" before my eyes. And lines, too! I'm on level 17, and we're getting down to the deadline--what is the last screen on this after level 20 is completed, and how do I send the company a screen shot--I don't know how to do that. Thanks! Anybody finish?

I played through the first seven levels rather quickly, but I can see this would be a real time consumer as the levels progress. What I really need to answer in my own mind before I spend my time on this is "do you really want the free software once you solve the puzzle?" I haven't answered that question yet so before I spend any more time or effort on this I am going to get a cup of tea and sit and think. It is the logical thing to do.
Bubby, thanks for the info on this game and prize. I think I have gotten as much enjoyment out of reading this thread as I would out of the game! ;-)

Hi tinkyy, to take a screenshot (without any other additional programs) just press "Prt Scr" (which is normally in a group of three keys alongside "Scroll Lock" and "Pause Break" on your keyboard)
Then run a paint program such as "Paint" in the Accessories section of the start menu - then press Ctrl-V to paste the copied screenshot - then save the picture via the usual File->Save menu.

Question2 - are you a fellow eyecandy/fractal aficionado, and didja have a chance to test the ContextFree software, yet?

RunesageMagik - Answers to your questions: #1 - No, I used the same alias as I use here. #2 - I like fractals but prefer real/surreal graphics. Sometimes a combination of fractals and photographic objects make for a pleasing effect. I'm a little slow, so could you explain what "ContextFree software" you are talking about?
