Without registering and paying for "Reshade" when I resize something, it puts a watermark in the background. Is there some way around this.

Yes - as mentioned in the readme.txt file (included in the downloaded zip file) - you should run activate.exe prior to running setup.exe.
Extract the three files contained in the zip file - into their own folder - then run activate.exe, which will verify the giveaway is still current (with the giveaway servers) and then register the software for you. (I suggest you do not run Reshade at the time when you are running Activate.exe - as Activate was supposed to be run first).
Once you do that the software will be registered, you will not be prompted for a code, and no watermark should appear in the enlarged photos.

It worked great for a TOTAL of 2 days...and now when I open it, it has reverted to being 'unregistered' and does put a watermark on any image. Since there is no way to have it activated correctly, I consider it a 'bait and switch' if you really had a software supplier set it up to revert. Any good answer to this? I appreciate much of the good software given away, but things like this can drive away people if they become frustrated. So I guess I was able to do 50 images yesterday, and now I get to say GOOD FRICKEN BYE to GAOTD if they continue this type of sham promotion.

Sorry dickdee it seems, you missed something yesterday during the activation process of Reshade.
My program is registered to "Givawayoftheday" and is running as it should do.
It is very importend, during the installation of givaways, to READ the READ ME and follow the steps. Sorry.Posted 16 years ago # -
And mine is also registered to "Giveawayoftheday" {Hi graylox :) }
It's always a good idea to check, usually via the help/about button, to see if it's been registered correctly. I for example lost a brilliant program last year called Mindmap or something upon those lines. It have bought it but it's too darned expensive and now I'm retired I don't really need it. However back to the point, I learned to always check to see whether it had been registered correctly after that because I could have sworn I'd activated it correctly.

Hi,
My copy of Reshade is still registered properly also.
Whiterabbit, from the link that maizedaze suppled, there is a link to Sourceforge, for a free mind mapping program called FreeMind, maybe it could replace the one you lost, it can be found at:

Have a good one,

Never ceases to amaze me how even after 100+ downloaders raved about a product (and there was some raving going on with Reshade), a couple of rage-management challenged individuals instinctively blame GAOTD when something goes wrong at their end. I almost think Bubby wrote into the comments instructions that people with problems should come over to the Forum section and blame GAOTD. :-)
BTW- my copy is still registered. Who should I blame?

Mine still works also.

Just in case, just checked again...
Yap, still registered. No, no "bait & switch" here.
But I'm SURE it's GOTD's fault... For Pete's sake!!! *rolling eyes*
Who else could it be?? Mine?? NEVER!!!Now I'm curious! Anybody has an idea how would this bait & switch works, anyway??
GOTD would came in, sneak around ea user's PC and Un-Register?? Would this be done by Slava or Mr.B???
No wonder BuBBy is always so tired!!!! HeeeHeee!!!
Peace, MPosted 16 years ago #
