Weired again : error-code -8187

After having played and closed the game of today, I found the mainepage of GGAOTD with an error message launched in Firefox :

my translation:
"Error with opening a secured connection to sb-ssl.google.com. Error-code -8187"
But FiFo was not running before starting the game.
The game was activated properly.
Could not find that code in Google or Mozilla.
Uninstalled the game and restored the system. Restoring took an extreme long time and shut down my external H:drive with the games folder. After a 2. restart everything seems to be normal. Hopefully!
Have I to get paranoiac now again?

Well, since nobody has answered until now, I push this post up again.
Meanwhile I noticed, that the routine, confirming the activation has changed by launching the GAOTD/GGAOTD site.
Installing Reshade, some time after the system-restore, went fine.
I'm still wondering, why did my system try to connect to
s7.addthis.com / sb-ssl.google.com ? (see the picture linked above)
As I have installed ABP, I don't get/see those Google ads.
What's about that error-code?

The addthis.com is the link (the white rectangle not visible on your screenshot) to subscribe to an RSS Feed. Maybe you accidentally clicked on it - and the site link wasn't available?

Hmmm, don't know how, I couldn't even see the GGAOTD site, until I closed the game. Did not know that the site had launched.
But what so ever, it seems, that no harm has occurred. No clue what that code means?

Sorry, i've not had the same thing happen so can't be of help. i just thought I'd reply though. I'm really impressed with Reshade. I had a similar program, but that was not in the same class as this one. Reshade is so easy to use. :)

Thank you, WhiteRabbit, for trying. Yes Reshape is really great, I am "playing" with it all the day. I like to play around with graphic tools and filters, to combine them and compare, being a little bit creative. Saw the picture of your kids, they are really nice, they are looking so outright (I hope it's the right word) and honestly; enjoy their hollydays. :)

Anyway, didn't want to post another silliness, BuBBy is going to kill me one of these days!!! ;-)

I too have a "Fiffo" problem, a stupid problem.
Since the upgrade arrived day b4 last, I update all PCs, but one absolutely REFUSES to accept the update!!
I try & try & retry - It makes no damn sense.
It's like they decide to torture us!!!!

Hi, Manu, Barbs reminds me at my schoolmates, they called me Babs - looooong-long ago.
Nice you had a look at my problem - that not seems to be one (is this understandable ? sounds so eh?)
The Fifo update 9 to 10 made some difficulties for me. It did not download. Every time it tried to, an error occurred (what else ?). I deleted - reinstalled - deleted..., suddenly we got it. Sometimes puters have their own humor.
BTW- are you recognizing what's going on here? I'm feeling nauseous...Hopefully WR is alert.

SEC_ERROR_INVALID_ARGS -8187 Security library: invalid arguments.

i'm not a techie, but maybe goodgotd or bubby knows what the error was...they're good with that kinda stuff.........i have enough problems with human invalid arguments...

the "Alexa" website has information on s7.addthis.com.

it's some type of widget, but i'm clueless there as well---i don't use widgets...

hope i haven't added to the confusion, & someone knows what the error code means...

Thanks Violet4714, I started a search on the Mozilla page but could not find it. Now I'm able to google and have a look at it. Nice.
I hope your problems with human invalid arguments are not too severe. Sometimes would it be nice, a restore-point would help.Or F1.

Let me tell you, don't know *HOW*, I just woke up from a 10HOUR sleep. Don't know how I did that. Yes, I was up for 2 days straight already, but that's more a normality than an exception in my case. So I feel very good today!!!! So, let the siliness commence!!! Well, not really, just questions :-)

Been sniffing ur screenshot - Tell me:
1-What is that extension u got on the top right, a fist right besides ABP?
2-Why do u have ABP on the status bar also? I don't think u need both.
3-What are all those little white buttons besides your screengrab?
4-I don't see the LinkScanner or WOT button's. But you do have those, right?

I pushed my SearchBar up, out of the Navigation toolbar - it gives me more space both for the AddressBar and SearchBar. And for the other tone of extensions too...
Anyway, all that empty space up there isn't doing anything useful, is it!?!? So I decided to use it.

Hey, who is Leo? That's the name of my laptop. I know, quite silly, but ea of our PCs has its own name. Mine is already on "Leo-2", Leo-1 is ooold, and Leo was the Commodore, died long time ago.
That's why we called it Leo =Lionel Richie=The Commodores, get it?!? :-)
My hubby's laptop is called Palmi, ~a sort of Duck... HeeHeee
Oh yeah, we are quite silly!!!

Perhaps I should wire up my brain directly to my online dictionary, before this topic weirds me totally out.

Some BuBByCo should shut the effluent weir in my mouth / of my keyboard before more tarradiddle is floating over the edge of weir, overwhelming the whole forum.
Pleeease, somebody get the weir and catch me out of this.......

Hi,Manuette, sorry I was so monosyllabic, but I was a little bit out of it.
To your questions :
the fist is the icon for Googlefilter. I must admit that I love it for this icon, and shall research the other, perhaps more common tools. Don't know which is better.
LEO is the icon for my wonderful online dictionary.
Leo stands for : Leopold Universität München (the beginning of LEO dict 1992),
Link Everything Online, the Bavarian emblem and for
LEO's Bar a virtuell Online-Cocktail-Bar.
The empty space in the toolbar, is the place where the email toolbar should be, but never arrived. All the other tons of extensions are in the sidebar.
All my puters are named "Spock".
After so many bars I got thirsty...
