Here's a twist for you- I have a captured chunk of DivX 5.03B1 (dx50 vid, audio split across interleaves in mpeg-1, standard DivX home theater 'medium' quality preset) that the capturing program (WinDVD Creator 2) didn't write the header at the end of the AVI before stumbling and eating itself.
The capture went fine, so the *data* is there...
Any suggestions (including the use of a hex editor) on how I can create a header allowing me to clip out the part the wife wants?
(the last 3/4 of the superbowl, she's overjoyed the pats lost and wants to gloat forever.)
finding another copy of the final few minutes and the post-game happies would be plenty- from what I gather I can re-capture all but the half-time [not desired] and the post-game celebration [desired] on wednesday.
