samm- i agree. that would've been so cool. speaking as a new yorker (even tho' i'm not currently living there, that is where my heart is), i loved that it took so long for people to even react. and towards the end, the guy trying to drive his cart through the crowd was so blase on his walkie-talkie, i love new yorkers!
very cool, fun web-page to look at

I hope this peachfuzz doesn't have to many %% ?
Perhaps this is the explanation for your hyper-baby video, I understand.
After using the red-eye remover a 2. run gave me the name: Huckleberry SugarpopPosted 16 years ago # -
I'd almost forgotten about this "visual overload" site in my bookmarks! It's a VR tour of Steve's Weird House in Seattle Washington. Steve lives in this old Victorian house that's jam packed full of unusual (that's putting it lightly) art. Not only is the inside of the house full but the entire property is decorated with bazaar and beautiful items. You can view and maneuver around each room or area using either Quicktime or Flash. The Quicktime tours give you additional controls (on the lower left corner) to zoom in and out. Be sure to look at not just the walls but ceilings and floors too. I can't imagine how this fellow "lives" in this place! I'd find it difficult to even find a spot to stand. Check it out: http://www.vrseattle.com/pages/browse.php?cat_id=845

Thanks for all those wonderful web cam sites. I need something to keep me from getting trapped by the four walls that surround me 24/7. Nice ones though I may not take Runesage's advice, lol.
I got 83% right as well on the Judd art fake or real, lol, got the bed one wrong - shoulda known better.
Keep these excellent links a coming folks you're adding to my world quite a lot these days :)

p.s.
I gotta agree with you Graylox, my memories of school were of a black cloaked headmaster with an askew motar board, The highly polished wooden floors smelling of wax, stark looking classrooms with maybe a few charts on the walls, and stale chewing gum stuck under the flaps of the desk tops and stools. My moment of glory/what's the word for making a statement against the system...you know what I mean i'm sure... was turning up at the awards ceremony following my final year exams dressed like Marc Bolan in tourquoise satin trousers and a pink satin jacket. (all the rage with us then teenagers in the early 70's. I'd wanted to buy a lurex top hat as well, but they were far too expensive for a school leaver, lol. I remember the gasps of astonishment from all the parents present (mine never bothered to come) and the gaggle of admiring boys following the ceremony.
What school memories do you have????

webcam hurtigruten :
On board of the famous Hurtig Route: I saw there some fantastic pictures; now as the days are very short the cams are mostly black. We traveled that route by car and boat five times, 1969 /73 but only in the summer. It is terrific there.http://www.bt.no/kamera/article208141.ece?lang=en
with the route map, little English only, you can click on the town's name to see the cam there:

My school-memories ? The first 4 years at "Volksschule" were mostly like a game.
I think it was under my 3. year about 1954 !!! as a TV-show came into our little town. This adventure should take place in our school, and it was little B. with those "nice" long curly hair, plaited in two thick pigtails, who should come up to the stage and give those obligatory flowers to the mayor, not to forget the longtime practiced curtsy. I should even say some words.
This "TV-Show" looked a little bit different as those today :
On the stage stood a nicely decorated desk, on the desk stood a TV. The movie was the opera Turandot. I'll never forget that.Posted 16 years ago # -
i'm gone for half a day and there are some great new links. thanks all!
i'm lovin' your school memories....
graylox, i can just picture it, it must have been pretty exciting!
whiterabbit- man, oh man, i would pay money to see you in a marc bolan get-up. bang a gong!Posted 16 years ago # -
funky, I wasn't impressed at all by the ballyhoo and that I had to be well dressed and nicely combed, but I was impressed by the music, the first time I saw an opera - on an itsy-bitsy black and white screen, there was hardly anything to see....
Posted 16 years ago # -
actually, it was the viewing i was referring to. it must have been a pretty big deal, since they made such a to-do about it.

many years later I met the former mayor, he recognized me ( how ever ) and we had a good laugh at that episode

Returning to this thread's theme -
No alien spotting going on at this point on the Rio Grande, just man disrupting nature with loud mechanical equipment -
