Speaking solely on my own behalf, I am wishing you much success. The detailed product description and tantalizingly cryptic name has me all aquiver. The stars are certainly in your favor, and what with your marketing plan being so well-thought out, I see no reason why you should experience any trouble whatsoever becoming the next Bill Gates of vaporware. Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead!

i'll have to agree with RM here, although i'm not nearly as eloquent...
and i personally don't think this is the right place to tell us about you being "aquiver", RM...Posted 16 years ago # -
Hey, you should hear how the gals are talking on another thread! Now, that made me all a'tingle. :-)
Posted 16 years ago # -
where is that thread ? I knew, you had something to hide for us...
EDIT:
...something FROM us...Posted 16 years ago # -
from us, graylox, from us...don't encourage him!:D :D :D

rm- are you talking about my silly comment about the little man?
it was totally inadvertent, but i couldn't bring myself to edit it....i'm mean we are all pretty mature here (some more than others...ahem).i didn't mean to offend or make anyone tingle.

<turning pink>
0:-) - it was the dictionary - that little man in the boxPosted 16 years ago # -
that's what i'm thinking, graylox.
Posted 16 years ago # -
okay, okay, I did hope, nobody would notice it. But you are really keen.
Posted 16 years ago # -
I've done a google search on "not telling yet XD" and I don't think the product actually exists or has a history. Besides the GOTD team are very busy - sometimes it can take hours for them to forward the daily jokes email or funny pics.

I was just being silly! Honest!

Bubby That means i don't want to say the product name =( how can a moderator not know such a thing?
Posted 16 years ago # -
Sorry, Sir, I think there is a typo, shouldn't it be
baloonaproductions ?
Maybe your Speech Recognition Software has a glitch ? Never mind, we did understand anyway.Posted 16 years ago # -
RunesageMagik you have a really dry sense of humour an I am at last getting used to it (Hugs)

I named it Balooga productions after...A funny shark from a game.Got a problem with that =(?
Posted 16 years ago # -
Shark, he? Bill G. is funny ? Didn't know that, never met him. But M$ is definitely no game.
Posted 16 years ago # -
I just set up a system to pay with paypal.Wish me luck.
Posted 16 years ago # -
Nice logo, but you could certainly enhance the impression by transmogrifying a single word or acronym ( e.g. "baloonaproductions" ) to fit into and assume the shape of a shark outline.
There is a pro for such things here around. Have a look at the forum :http://www.giveawayoftheday.com/forums/topic/2161?replies=31
You may pay my check for this consulting service via paypal - thank you.

I thought I'd take a few minutes to check your website.
First impressions count - so don't make the first thing you do, an apology:
We are a software company striving to grow.We are still small but once we get a bit of company growth going on we will probably be able to get a more better website provider.
Second - Some things apart from software can turn off visitors to your site. Have someone else check your text, if you want to leave a "more better" impression.
About the software.
Freeware:
Don't have a "section" if there is nothing inside. You are only wasting my time if I have to click on it to find out it is empty - or that "you hope" one day there might be a program here. Add the section when you need it - not to "fill out" a menu bar.
Shareware:
Putting a program that just changes a single option in the boot.ini file - probably isn't something other people will want to buy - especially when they can do the exact same thing by running 'msconfig' and get access to the same functionality - and more.
Unless you can identify why your $$$ version is better than the free version, why would anyone look at your software? (Unless of course you are hoping they don't know about the free version - and you can trick them into paying for your program - not a good long term business plan).
Donate? - I asked myself the same question. No harm in trying I suppose. ;)
I would suggest starting out with your first programs as Freeware and see if there is any interest. While you are still learning you need people to be able to test and use your software and give you feedback. Once you are confident you can produce software good enough that people will want to pay for it - then think about shareware. I'm assuming at this stage in your programming "career" you need more constructive criticism and help to develop as a programmer. While nice in the short term - a handful of $5 donations for your program isn't going to make you a better programmer (or rich). Try http://www.donationcoder.com/ instead.

My My, been gone a few days and leaving again tomorrow. Don't mean to highjack this thread but what dictionary has "Little man in the Box" in it". LOL I've missed out!

Posted 16 years ago # -
archangel- you might be better off having missed the whole "little man in the box" thread. trust me.
Posted 16 years ago # -
Err...BuBBy was that meant to be insulting?...
Posted 16 years ago # -
i think bubby was offering some honest suggestions.
i personally found it kind of annoying to get a blank page when i clicked on freeware. it gives a bad impression. the site seems thrown together at the last minute, you just don't seem prepared. and i would be wary of doing business with someone if i'm going to have to worry about how you'd handle customer service issues, etc.
i really do not mean to offend, just some constructive criticism.
Posted 16 years ago # -
Sorry about my website =D, I was half-playing a video game when I was constructing it.Freewares will be took down until theres something in it.Lol thanks for telling guys.
Posted 16 years ago # -
you are welcome. just trying to help. :)
Posted 16 years ago # -
I fixed up the site(A bit) anyone got a good paragraph for the front page?I am utterly clueless.I bet BuBby got some advice for me right now =D
Posted 16 years ago # -
it's looking a little better already, keep it up!
Posted 16 years ago # -
Perhaps these good folks were thinking about pulling the site down for a bit longer than 45 minutes. Me, I've always found it takes at least an hour to conjure up serious site mods.
