oh, runesagemagi- you are a bad, bad man. i come from a long line of addictive personalities. on top of that i have a toddler, i am about to go back to school for the first time in 20 years and i desperately need to get a job. add the fact that i'm on this site daily and let you all feed me tons of free games.
that first link is sooooooo not my kind of game, but it looked interesting so i gave it a shot. i can't stop playing!!! it's so cute. and i'm discovering it's not just finding the right order, but timing is important too. so many combinations to try and get civilization off on the right foot.
......................
thank you. ;DPosted 16 years ago # -
funky,
That first game was a sleeper. Run it once, doesn't seem like much. I barely remember factorials - with 8 possible icons turned in any order, but only in situ, how many combinations izzat? Seems all combos produce different results. So far, the ship's made it to the treasure island, the earthcorer through the mountain, the 2 beings mated and reared a kid, and the house is now a wierd marshmallow mansion, and I haven't maxed more than 2 icons yet. One complaint - the repetitive music. If that gets trapped inside my head like a jingle, I'm likely to go postal. Came across a cheats page... won't read it,won't post it.Far as games go, I'm still nowhere near as evil as that brigand FwF. Am holding many freebies in reserve, partly cause a lot of the time when I search GAOTD, I find someone else has already posted it. Fer ex: There's a big game thread lurking about 4 to 5 months back. Dare I link to it and start the madness all over? :-)

"Far as games go, I'm still nowhere near as evil as that brigand FwF"
when i see a post from fwf, i know what i'm getting into if i check it out.
now, granted this thread did start with the word free (always trouble waiting to happen.), but a little "grow" type game posted by runesagemagi? totally came out of left field.
i have, also, not been able to max more than two icons, but i'm pretty sure that in one scenario, instead of falling in love, a murder was committed. i blinked so i missed the actual interaction, but there was a body lying in front of the house for the rest of the game!

Funky, having trouble reading between the lines of your post... really hope you didn't find anything obscene/offensive on the grow series site. I don't necessarily play all the games on any page I visit. Some flash and shockwave sites can be a bit off-color.
An example - funmansion.com (didn't find any other mentions searching GAOTD) Lots of games (and other stuff), but this game caught my attention - not only simple and amusing, it just might offer a way to identify children who will go on to enjoy pulling wings off flies. Depending on how you draw the line, it can be a real cliffhanger, if you get my drift. Too bad there are no soundeffects, e.g., Goofy falling into a gorge. :-) Best if played after clicking full screen mode

rune- no problems at all! i thought it was a pretty hilarious (and realistic) possibility. not that i condone murder in real life (except maybe for ex-husbands.......i'm joking! i'm just still a little raw.)
all kidding aside, i love links to free games, even when i'm not into the genre. which is why i like this site.
i'm going to have to start posting some myself. i want to be a member of the elite squad on this forum.

Whew, I was afeared I'd done something to get branded as a perv or brigand.
Did you mean "Elite" squad or "Evilite" squad? :-)
Here's another that nobody's unearthed before. Methinks it's perfect for grannies to send cutesy, very simple animated movies to the rugrats in their lives.

rune- that was fun. thank you.
i wonder if i'm allowed to post my "movie" here. it's appropriate for all ages.

Sure, why not? I just wrote a PG-13 screenplay, and I really doubt the censors will vote me off the island - http://www.dvolver.com/live/movies-108423

I don't know if I should be intrigued or worried....

Be afraid... be very afraid. :-)

rune- it's amazing how similar our movies are.....although mine is much simpler:

Like a modernday Johnny Appleseed, it seems I've begun planting free game sites anywhere I please. For example, even Bubby liked the link to approximately 14,000 retro remake games that I planted here leading to a site called OVINE.
Yo, Funky, if it isn't too much to ask, what button did I overlook that allowed you to create your multi-act movie... "Valley of the Dolls Meets Gentle Ben"?
Posted 16 years ago # -
hold on, i'll check.
Posted 16 years ago # -
o.k.- after you add the music, you have 2 options: next scene or finish movie.
Posted 16 years ago # -
Oh, well there you go... who do you know here who doesn't read directions?? :-)
thank you

lol!
didn't you learn anything from your golfing story(which should be required reading for all men)??Posted 16 years ago # -
Do we EVER learn? (rhetorical question, that)

I love the funny little game!!
Posted 16 years ago # -
Samm, I'm having fun with it, too, but then I like games that are fast, short-term distractions.
Now this next one Johnny Appleseed's planting is just the opposite, at least after you pass through the first few levels! (I was really surprised GAOTD's search engine didn't reveal it as someone else's "find" because it is a quality puzzle game) -

I said to myself, "Self, should this be in a new thread called TIME FLIES, or should I just start another row of seedlings in the Johnny Appleseed Memorial Orchard?" and before you know it, I'm taking my dibbler and sowing a couple more seeds here.

you're talking to a crowd that, under no circumstances, can resist the word free.
Posted 16 years ago # -
Please not so many FREEs, can not comply with all those offers.
Have now a sub-sub-sub-folder on the bookmarks-toolbar called : tonights conquestsPosted 16 years ago # -
@funkymom.. you are right! The word free is a mighty powerful one. That's why all the grocery stores say 'buy one get one free'.. of course most customers don't realize that if they only buy one, they get that for 1/2 price!!
@graylox.. I've got the same problem.. sub, sub, folders. And you should see all the bookmarks I've got now for games!!

where do you download the time for playing them, is that download free too ?
