Bummer.
While the download period was listed as 14 days, I thought I would download it, comment on the rapidity of the download (I really was impressed by the speed) then get some sleep before fiddling with the registration key. I was assuming that by late Monday or Tuesday UKland time the majority of huge downloads would have ended and the servers would have enough spare capacity to cope with the registration before timing out, which I assumed was possibly the problem many were getting with the key.
So I delayed registering.
And the powers-that-be decided 14 days was far too generous and slashed it to one day, as is normal, and I missed it.
*SIGH*.
Zip file now binned.
I guess I won’t be back.
No site that does not keep promises gets a second chance. I know that sounds pompous, but I do have so many other ways to spend my time.
Thanks for everything, GGOTD, GOTD and all their contributors.

Like many others -- I did not trust the 2 week notice because it had never been done before. However, I was one of MANY who had absolutely no trouble with the activation. The timing was only slightly longer than usual.
Don't blame GOTD for YOUR decision to delay the activation. That was your decision and you have the consequences of that decision.
The comments all along wondered about that long time and has been noted - the agreement with Playrix was one day. Maybe, because many didn't get it downloaded in time because of it's size, despite the Firefox add-on, it will be repeated soon. If so, don't miss it again out of spite. That's your own doing!

Hi HerTechSupport,
As Diane mentions, 14 days was unusual, and for those who have been regulars, almost certainly a mistake. There has never been more than 24 hours added to a giveaway and that has usually been because of a major problem on the day of the giveaway.
With respect to you saying you guess you won't be back. Isn't that like saying I'll cut off my nose to spite my face? It's your decision, but in thje end it'll be you that loses out on many other games that will be given away over the coming months and hopefully years.
There is no other site that gives away games with no additional stuff such as the possibility of toolbars, home page changes, registry entries added to your registry, files installed in various places on your hard drive or even browser changes.
There are some excellent free game sites as I'm sure you know; such as MyPlayCity (who frequently change their installation process so as {IMO} to confuse and hopefully get those who download to incude the add ons etc) and Jenkat Games, both of which have hundreds of games that you can download for free. All these sites do open your browser to their home page when you close the games down. I believe there are ways around that, but I think by installing the games you are agreeing to the extra's. At least with game giveaways you know exactly what you are getting and where you are with a game.
I do hope you reconsider your desision not to visit again. :)
regards
