what mapsking REALLY means is - "keeps me entertained when I am at work and the boss isn't watching".
You can be honest with us... we are all doing the same. :P

Bubby, just for the record, I'm the boss at my company, but if FwF, IDOL, K8 and graylox, plus lurkers like maizeydaze and the rest of the gang (you know who you are!) keep offering up so many delicious appls, I'm going to have to fire myself!
I'm going to have to fire myself!
You know, RM, every time I look at you I get a fierce desire to be lonesome!
Ahh, it's good to be back! LOL and LOL again....
How have you been, bud? Still tormenting folks, I see..
Well, we all have to be famous for something Bubby.
:-)
Thanks, Mapsking
Gee RM, FreewareFan, rabbit, BuBBy, and everyone.. same here.. I'm the boss, and I've already fired myself! Me thinks we're all reliving our 2nd childhoods with all these games!! It is nice to be able to walk away from the 'real world' and have some fun, after all, gotta use these computers for something besides work!
And being able to chat in these forums helps break things up too.. nice to have others to talk to!
Multitasking freelancer here, that's why I really like the games that you can play a quick level and save. It's good for decompression.
Copmom, I'm sorry, I think I've exhausted every effort to find the author of Gem Towers. I got a notice that the email I sent is probably going to bounce.
That's OK Idahl.. thanks for trying. Guess I can live without that one!
Hey gang; I tried downloading and installing Gem Towers and also got an error message when I tried to install.
"DirectX 9.0 installed(589824). Requires DirectX 9.0c (December 2005 or later)."
Looked at getting update to program but it seemed to require a rather large download about 60mb if I recall correctly. I'm not sure my vision would have been able to handle a 3D game field though. I'd have to see some screen shots of the game first to know if it is worth the effort. Will pass for now, but may try again down the road.
I love reading these posts and enjoy the humour that so many of you include. The only downside to reading all is that I don't have as much time to play the games that I've gotten here. Both amusing, informative and entertaining.
Just a side note.. I've been downloading gumboy and it's sure slow coming in! Like 5.3kbs. That's about as slow as molasses in January! I am on cable with a 10gig download speed so don't know what the problem is ..
Dns, it is a beautiful and fun game, but if you have vision problems, I would pass it up as it is a visual challenge... that is part of it's charm, but I don't think it would be enjoyable for you, just frustrating. It does require DirectX 9.0c or higher.
Copmom, the email did bounce:( I found a copy of his other game and it is also a super game. The problem is, it is shareware and the author's order site is gone as well as his home site. Warning! Do not click on any of the two vampire/commercial sites or any link on them. Bad stuff Mikey... I got a virus I had to quarantine and then got spammed like crazy for a day after clicking on one link in hopes of finding the author. I'm sure that was not the author's intention, nasties had just moved in the abandoned sites.
It is a really a shame that he has abandoned his projects because these were two really cool games. I know he has worked as a team member on some other games like Bards Tale.
Perhaps he is working on something really good now. I hope he resurfaces at some point because I would like, if nothing else, to say thanks for the great game.
