Hi everyone. Does anyone know why I get the error ‘Skriptfehler weiter?’ ? In english, it is translated as ’script error further?’ Can anyone help?

Me too got the same error message even from the Kittens's game yesterday. Mine is Win XP Home version. I always dl softwares using my Winzip.This is the 2nd time I have problem dl games from GOTD. The Kittens I dl the whole night (more than 5 times both links and still in vain). I like to have the Puppies game so please help us !Posted 16 years ago # -
I've sent a message to the Giveaway team - hopefully we can get this resolved (even if it requires the assistance of the developers. Other issues like not being able to specify the install path needs to be fixed also. This is too large a download for it to be scrapped just because of a german error message in the install program.
If anyone else is having this problem - please add your details - including which version of Windows you are running. Also try closing down any other programs that are running before running the setup program.

Without having access to any "official" support at the moment - I'm having a look through what I can - the game is written using Macromedia Director - which produces "script based" programs. The game actually works ok on my PC (so if you want to come around to my place... just kidding)
Where abouts does this error pop up? How far into the program do you get (what do you see/hear)? If I can get some idea of what the program is doing when it crashes - I might be able to work out what is going wrong. (I suspect you have another program installed that is conflicting - as Kittens is basically the same program, and you are getting the error message in both).

After I used Winzip and dl the file, activate the set up. When the start up, the error msg appear. I try to 'force it' by closing the box but it just 'refuse to'. :( I hope this can be 'solve' before the day end as is a big file so take some times to dl la. Thanks alot for keeping me posted. Get back shortly and hope there is some good news from you. :P I don't want to miss this cute little game la... (sob...)

Would you mind downloading and running the current version installer of Adobe Shockwave.
http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/ (You should exit your browser and any other programs first). Hopefully running Puppies, or Kittens after this won't give us an error message (or at least something a little more descriptive).It is only a small download - but I am working on the hunch that perhaps you have some incompatible files that are causing the program to halt. (sometimes I wish I could make my software fail - then fixing it would be easier).
Oh - and it's BuBBy btw. (It's ok though - I knew who you meant).

I'm sorry for not replying in the last few messages, being on the other side of the world, I was sleeping. I'm running on Windows XP, and using winzip to unzip programmes as well. The error would appear every time I tried to do an action, and the game can be continued by clicking 'yes'. However, when it came to the mini-games, this error would appear almost hundreds of times, for each action that the computer performs. I tried downloading the lastest version of adobe shockwave, but it was no help to the game even when all programmes were closed. Also, the heading of the error states Fehler Director im - player. The trisynergy website for both puppies and kittens games state 'not released'. (Maybe this has something to do with the errors?)

I'll keep looking at it - but don't uninstall the game just yet. Being a weekend - it can be difficult to get any answers. But, I am a user just like everyone else - and I would hate to download 2 large games like these and have them not work over something trivial (especially for users with dial-up internet).
As I said before - I've sent messages off to the GOTD Team, who will have contacts with the providers of the game. Looking at their site - it seems this game hasn't been officially released yet - so squashing a few bugs like this one, and specifying an install folder - is probably in their interests, before they are flooded with angry customers who want their money back.

Don't mention la.. cos we probably are the only two 'poor souls' that can't get the game we want. :P I don't really have much problem to activate and play the sw or games from GOTD site before. Only recently, The Atlantic game will 'shut off' my laptop during the level playing so I uninstall after couple of times. The sw about one of the game that other did also have the same problem too that will 'corrupt my right click button' after install (99.9% sure cause by this pic of sw as everything go back to 'normal' after uninstall this particular pic.
Hopefully we can get this great little game when Bubby come back . If not we may really have to go to his place to play the game.......... (kidding too. )Take care, lets wait for Bubby or GOTD team to come back to 'rescue'. Have a great weekend pal. :)
