Ashampoo Burning Studio 6 is what I've used for months now, and it never fails, no matter what the task. I don't think there is one thing you would want to do, that this program cannot handle!
I have been leaning over Ashampoo for a little bit. Nero has given me problems of late.
Yes, Nero gave me problems in the past, and I dumped it. Like I said, give Ashampoo a try, I believe you'll stick with that one!
You know what, you didn't say if you wanted a freeware or payware version. If you want to go with a freeware program, then I would tell you to check out Starburn. It's very powerful, and in the genre of free, it's hard to beat!!
I tried the Starburn they offered here a few days ago the $495 dollar one and it froze when it got to around 30 percent. Could be my dvd writer but I haven't had any problems before. I will try it again but other wise I will try Ashampoo
Been gone a couple of days and am catching up. Are you looking for freeware or..........? Do you primarily rip then burn? Any info will help.
It doesn't matter if its freeware or not. If it is great but if not no big deal. I don't mind paying for something as long as it works. Thanks for the great recommendations so far.
I haven't tried this yet - but worth adding to the growing list of free burner programs.
BurnAware Free Edition - http://www.glorylogic.com/index.html
What exactly do you mean by "suite"?
I haven't used anything you'd probably classify as a "suite" in over 2 years - I want a program that burns data/audio/video to a CD/DVD - that's it!
I use ImgBurn: http://www.imgburn.com/
Free, portable and a single file executable just over 1MB in size - the absolute best at burning.
Sure, it doesn't do video transcode/DVD authoring/boil eggs/service the car/etc, but neither does it completely screw up the OS by dumping files and registry entries everywhere. There are far better programs around to do all the other non-burning related stuff.
I have seen alot of good things about imgburn. I will take a look at it. I really wanted my program to cook eggs though :-(
