If anyone has any suggestions with respect to co-op games that we could consider playing, please post details here. There's a good chance I already have the game, so can check it out for suitability. Thank you.

Finally - the bald headed one has got a pc that works...
Bought a small motherboard at auction,a Biostar MCP6PB M2+,v6...
Added some bits I already had - Athlon 64x2 7850 cpu and cooler,3 gig DDR2 memory and a GT8800 graphics card...tied up a few wires and pushed the button,it booted up with hard drive from old machine straight into Win7...
Had to update some of the drivers and re-validate Windows, but all now seems to work...just a bit of tinkering to get it the way I want it...
Haven't played a lot of games in the last couple of years(except for daily round of golf)due to family circumstances and a problem with nerves in left hand,so off to have a bit of practice...
Back to original thread - sorry for divergence...
I've never really been a 'team player' when playing games,I find cooperation difficult as I have a habit of just shooting anything/anyone I see,but I could probably learn restraint...
Games I would suggest would be along the lines of Grid,Trackmania United,Dogfighter,HL2 Deathmatch etc...

And a quick congrats!
Hi Deserthead, we do play Half-Life 2 Deathmatch. We've been have a lot of fun shooting each other when playing straight deathmatch. When there are enough of us we play team deathmatch. You should come try out a few games with us. Killing Floor although a coop game, is really about just shooting zombies. The more you kill, the more money you earn to buy better weapons at the end of the round. Once you've got your favorite weapon, it's usual to give some of the in game money you've earned to others who haven't managed to get as much money. Usually there are 10 rounds in a game, then you can vote on whether to play the same map, or go on to the next map in the rotation. We have been playing on the easy level servers as we are all 'noobs' at the game.
If I can get enough community members to join in, I'm planning on hiring a box server so that we can play several different games that will be under our control without 'outsiders' joining in, but that will depend on the number of members I can entice into playing. What I don't want is for friends to feel obliged to play. Play when you feel like playing and never when you don't. :) At the moment, if a game has the facility to create your own server that's waht we do, otherwise we try to find empty servers to play on. Inevitably some 'outsiders' do join in when we play these servers, but so far we've had no problems.
We played some Killing Floor yesterday and today as well as try out Sanctum 2 again.
Please do at least have a few games with us and see how you feel. There's no competitiness and as most games we play involve shooting bots, there's no bad feelings. :)
HL2Deathmatch and a few others are exceptions w.r.t. shooting each other, but it's all done in fun.
Here's a screenshot of me and Craggle playing yesterday:
Playing Tuesday evening from 9.30pm onwards. (GMT)
Overslept this evening so missed the time slot. I apologise if anyone turned in. will reshedule for Wenesday evening the same time.
Are you sure the baled-headed one bought that small motherboard at auction? Lol. Anyways, it hardly matters as long as everything is working fine and smooth. Congos!
Yes I'm sure I did buy a ******* board at auction,why ask ?...
Next official meet will be on Tuesday evening. (22nd Sept). Played Friday and Sunday evening, both games Killing Floor. We decided to play a higher difficulty level this evening and I must have died about 6 times over two games, lol.
p.s. removed the obvious swear word Deserthead just in case it offended some of our members. hope you don't mind.
Sorry about that WR,not been too well over last few days and was a bit annoyed at the wording of a previous post(probably shouldn't have been, but the meds don't help)...
No problem Deserthead, I understand only too well how paim and meds can affect moods. Being stuck in the house virtually 24/7 unless I have help (I pay someone 5 hours a week to take me shopping as my wife is too busy). I can no longer go places I used to love to walk to, nor persue some of my hobbies, which at times is extremely frustrating.
Yeah, I definitely understand.
We will be meeting tuesday evening (GMT) around 9 to 9.30 for an evening of coop gaming. If enough friends turn in we could try some half-life deathmatch, which is a lot of fun when only friends ar eplaying. Especially when we can also talk to each othr on my Team speak server.
Friends so far joining in these games (tohugh not all at once) are:
Whiterabbit-uk
Craggle
Ornithos
BentlyTCow
Shazam
Incognitum
with IBWebb joining us soon
I'm hoping to expand the group to at least 16 players over the coming months. Ideally with many coop games four playrs is ideal, though for some as many as possible for example coop senarios in ArmA II and 3 or Half-life Deathmatch or team match. Generally we play pure co-op, but the half-life 2 game is one of the exceptions, and soon Unreal Tournament 3 as well
I think it was a way better method than how it is right now. Can’t we resume it?
I will try and set up the reminders ASAP. Keep meaning to, but I have so much going on I never seem to have the time.
We will be meeting online on Friday 10th October from around 9.30pm (GMT). All welcome. If you have trouble contacting me via Steam (Steam name = Whiterabbit-uk and my profile page = http://steamcommunity.com/id/Whiterabbit01/) post here and I'll PM you our group Team Speak server. you will need Team Speak 3 installed. :)
Although the gamegiveaway steam club hasn't been operating for several years regularly. I am playing a few coop games weekly with a few friends I've met via this site. We play every Thursday evening. At the moment we are playing Dead Island from around 9.30pm to midnight (UK time), though a few of us start earlier from around 7.30pm and play Half-Life 2 Deathmatch, and occasionally the free version of Unreal Tournament that is available via the Epic Games store HERE and one of the Half-Life 2 mods called D.I.R.I.P. Warm Up a vehicle combat game and is free via Steam.
We also intend to explore several other coop and multiplayer games such as Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days, Gas Guzzlers Extreme, Left 4 Dead 1 & 2, Dying Light and other coop games.
If you are interested in joining us please post below and I'll contact you using the email you've used to register on this forum with any details you may need, such as other times we may play, for example I also sometimes (fairly regularly) play on either Saturday or Sunday Evening and Tuesday evenings, so any of those days are okay for joining in.
We are a bunch of old timers (ages from early 40 to 60+ who play for fun and not competitively# though any one of any age is welcome. We don't swear online and have a great laugh whatever game we are playing. None of us are expert players, for example, when we enter Half-Life 2 Deathmatch games where other players are present, we are usually pwned to death expertly by those players. We are also fairly shy guys, who just want to have a little fun and companionship.
Oh yeah, also include any of the Civilization games, Zombie Army Trilogy and the coop part of ArmA 2 and 3 and even 1 vs 1 chess using the Battle Chess: Game of Kings game via Steam.
With respect to chess, I've never been much good at the game, rarely ever winning a game, especially as my memory has suffered; also I'm fairly impatient so tend to make stupid moves as I can't think too far ahead any more.
Also, if you are interested in joining and have any other suggestions for playing they are always welcome.
Hey Wabbit,
You might think about checking into this...
https://community.chrono.gg/t/steam-new-remote-play-together-feature/18511/
The best part????? Only ONE PERSON has to have the game to play.
That sounds interesting.
I saw a really good deal on a game called Nuclear Dawn yesterday. It had been reduced by 85% in the sale. I've been looking for suitable games to play with a small group of friends that play regularly. Steam had a four pack included in the sale which was reduced even more as one of the games was included in the deal for free. I tried to purchase it, but because I already had the game I wasn't able to. Even gifting the whole pack was unavailable
Unfortunately because it was a four pack and the way that multi-packs work on Steam, at least one of the games in the pack has to go to the person buying it, but becasue I already had the game; well you can guess. both options i.e buy for yourself or buy as a gift were unavailable.
As I am the only one who has the game in the group, this remote play sounds brilliant; assuming all games are included. I'll have to check into it. Thank you for the information, appreciated.
They are running tests on them over on Chrono. Dana is involved. I am not..I just don't have the time..
Like this ..at the end of the thread...
Update:
. Fossil Hunters - we got in game, but he needed to delete his save to play with me, then it didn’t work.
. Aqua Kitty - I couldn’t join as player 2 for some reason. No sound.
. Pang Adventures - no sound and couldn’t set up myself to play with controller as 2nd player.
. Then his controller batteries died, lol.
. TowerFall Ascension - no sound. Controls in game unresponsive. He’s restarting his system.
Thanks for posting Delenn. Lets keep our fingers crossed that the system does work once the bugs are worked out.

I haven't yet got around to announcing when games are starting. If anyone is interested who are already members of the giveawayoftheday Steam group, please let me know what days you prefer to play. Anyone else who is interested in joining the gamegiveawayoftheday group, you can find the giveaway group page HERE.
If I can get an idea who wants to join in, then I can arrange specific days. Weekends are probably the best for most, but I'm happy to arrange game days anytimea si'm usually free most evenings.
Most of the games we play will be cooperative, though there are some multiplayer games such as The Elder Scrolls Online, Unreal Tournament 3 and the latest version, which is still free via Epic games becasue it is still in Alpha (It's come a long way since its early development almost a decade ago) and one of our favorite oldies Half-Life 2: Deathmatch. We often play cooperatively even though its meant to be deathmatch (not team deathmatch) when we join a server where there are more than a few players.
I'd also like to see players who wish to play Men of Valor a Vietnam based game from 2004. (I have several hard copies spare) At the time of its release it was far ahead of other games of the same ilk graphically and today still looks pretty decent though no where near as good as games such as ArmA 2 and 3. Those are other games that could play. in fact, if you have any suggestions, i'm sure there will be some players interested.
The only prerequisites are we don't play competitively, we use Discord to talk (and if discord is down (which is is occasionally) we use Skype. you don't necessarily have to talk, but i can assure you we are all basically noob players and are pretty shy. We dont swear online, we don't cheat and we treat each other with respect. Oh yeah, we also have a good laugh.
