Suddenly I am not able to unzip files downloaded from Giveawayoftheday. This has been happening for several days now. I do not have that problem with zipped files downloaded from other sites. I just upgraded my operating system to Windows 7 and that is when the problem began.
Any suggestions on what might be a solution to the problem.

I'm not exactly sure what you mean by "file will not unzip" so I'll give you three different answers.
a) Try using a different browser if using IE. Most servers use Gzip when transmitting files and some older versions of IE had trouble when the file was already a zip file.
b) Try using a different archive utility like 7-zip or Gzip.
c) If the error is a consistent "download is corrupt" message then the problem lies with your security software. If not using Kaspersky try setting exclusions for the setup file or temporarily disabling the security software. If using Kaspersky then you'll need to boot in "safe mode with networking" and then reboot normally after the installation.

When I try to extract the files in the Zip file using the Windows 7 built in extractor I get the following message.
Compressed (Zipped) Folders Error: Windows cannot open the folder.
This seems to only be happening with files downloaded from giveawayoftheday.

That error has nothing to do with GOTD. For whatever reason you either don't have an archive program installed, or the proper file association is not set to allow your archive program to open the file, or your account doesn't have the necessary credentials to access certain directories/files on your computer.
Installing 7-zip or Gzip linked above, or ZipGenius (which is what I use) will fix the first two problems and you should try this first.
If it's the last problem then you should confirm that you're using an administrator account and check that the UAC are set correctly.

I am using an administrator account and having no problems extracting (opening)zipped files from other locations. Only GOTD files. You lost me, what is UAC?
I might add that WinZip is also not extracting the files downloaded from GOTD.I am going to install ZipGenius and see if that helps.

I downloaded and installed ZipGenius and tried to extract yesterdays and today's GOTD and received the same error on both of them "Checksum error in Setup.exe".

UAC stands for User Account Control (you should read this at some point since you're new to Windows 7 "Windows 7: User Account Control - UAC - Change Notification Settings") but that's not your problem.
Are you using IE, and if so, try using another browser (Chrome, Firefox, Opera, etc).
Have you tried disabling your security software, if not using Kaspersky, or booting in "safe mode with networking" if using Kaspersky? Some security software has a problem with the wrapper.
Have you scanned your PC for viruses and malware?
Have you installed all the required updates for Windows?
Finally, try booting in "safe mode with networking", download the current file and see if the file will unzip. If so, you've got something loading at normal boot that's causing an issue. If the problem lies with your security software then you can install the program; if the problem lies elsewhere then you should not install the program as it may be incompatible with something that normally runs and your PC might not start.

Just installed Windows 7 in the last couple of weeks and that is when my problem started. Never had an issue with XP. I have IE and Firefox installed with Firefox being my browser of choice. Have tried both of them without success. I am using (and have for years) Avast Free for my security software and windows firewall.
I am going to start down your list and see if I can resolve this problem.

I guess what really has me baffled is that I can download and extract zipped files from other sites without a problem. It is only messing with my GOTD downloads.
