Check the version number. The GOTD release was 5.0.2 while the latest version appears to be 5.5.1 and the most common cause of "lost registrations" is auto-updating of the software. All giveaways are "without support or updates" so as soon your version updates the license reverts to a trial version. You should always find and clear the "check for updates" box when you install a giveaway.
You might review the suggested alternatives for the Giveaway of the Day - mov Audio Extractor 5.0.2
Avidemux, listed as one of the alternatives, handles all of my video editing needs and will also extract audio.

With apologies for the delay -- I was in the midst of reorganizing -- I finally dug up my records on mov Audio Extractor. The trial version [no version # but the date of the .exe is 8/9/12] worked, with the activation data stored in the C:\ Documents and Settings\ [UserName]\ Application Data\ mov Audio Extractor\ ~system2.dat file in XP, or Users\ [UserName]\ AppData\ Roaming\ mov Audio Extractor\ ~system2.dat for win7/8/8.1 .
If you've got a backup or older version of that file stored with Windows Shadow Copy [e.g. System Restore], that might do the trick if that file was changed or deleted somehow. Or the software could have updated as Chris mentioned, or it's rare but not unheard of for the developer to turn activations off [for a reason they might cite terrible piracy figures].
If the software Chris suggested fits the bill, great. If not, please tell us what you're trying to accomplish & we might be able to offer more suggestions.
