Hi folks,
I’m away for the next few weeks on vacation. Due to my disabilities I tend to spend a good proportion of my time stuck in the hotel room. Going out for the day leaves me in a lot of pain and it usually takes 3 to 4 days to recover from it, so I usually take enough DVD’s to keep me entertained for the whole 2 weeks while I’m away. I usually get through at least three movies a day.
I had to format the old laptops HDD some time ago and lost the DVD player I had installed. I do have registration codes for a couple of DVD players, but they are backed up onto Blu-Ray discs which are still packed in boxes and stored in the attic room. It’s unlikely that I will find the programs at such a late date as we are away in less than 24 hours. The discs that the registration details are stored on have still to be added to the database I was creating prior to our house move last year; so, even if I did find the discs, I’d have to search through hundreds of unlabelled discs to find the DVD player files and registration details. {The reason most of our belongings haven’t been unpacked is because our builders have left us with a part built extension as well as many other building issues from the refurbishment of the rest of the house}
Anyway, does anyone know of a good DVD player that’s free that doesn’t need much RAM to run? The laptop is nearing the end of its life (it’s a single core 1.8GHz laptop with only 2GB of sys RAM ). I decided to purchase a more up to date laptop for the vacation, but it was faulty on receipt and had to be retuned. That problem is still in process and unfortunately won’t be sorted until after we return from our vacation.
Thanks in advance for any help.
I know it’s a simple case of Googling free DVD players, but I would rather use software that comes with recommendations from sources I trust. This is why I’m asking the community here for advice. There’s a couple that I’ve used in the past, but, because of my memory problems I can’t remember the names of the software.
