Unable to Install Software

I had the same issue. After multiple attempts, verifying IE was able to access the internet, disabling the firewall, disabling antivirus, etc... it was still giving me the error and then showing the registration info.
On a whim I downloaded the installer from the developer site. It installed without issue and when the program started it gave me the option to register. I used the info displayed for GiveawayoftheDay and it registered without issue.
Hope this helps (if you're still trying)...

Odds are, it's your security software that's causing the problem. It doesn't like something inside the GOTD wrapper and quarantines some files which makes your download "corrupt".
So, you can try:
- setting an exclusion for the setup files
- excluding the directory that contains the unzipped files
- temporarily disabling your security software
- booting in safe mode, install the program, reboot normallyFYI - there have been a number of complaints in the past few months about Kaspersky and Windows 8.1 and the only thing that works is the safe boot.

Hello! I am the newest member of the Kaspersky/W8.1 club. Just to confirm that the safe boot method does work (remember to select the safe boot with networking option because the installation software has to connect to the GOTD website).

Me too with 'Kaspersky Antivirus 2014' on a 'Windows 8.1 Pro with Media Centre' machine getting an error which says 'The setup files are corrupted. Please obtain a new copy of the program.' Will have to try out ChrisS methods and will report back.

ChrisS and SpodoCommodo you are right, on my system, booting into 'safe mode with networking' and installing software did the job. So it is not an OS problem but Antivirus problem. Hello... Kaspersky... I hope you are listening.

Hello... Kaspersky... I hope you are listening.
Purely FWIW, & largely because it was on my mind because of another thread, please don't be afraid to spend the time trying out different brands of security software. I've found the companies producing that sort of software to be far less responsive to users than any other type of software. Use the tests & magazine reviews to narrow down the list of what you might try -- know that they vary tremendously in friendliness & usability. Most companies offer trials -- most companies also have a software tool to completely remove their products. I find & download that removal tool from the company before I'll download the trial.

I was using Avast for a number of years without a problem but a couple of weeks ago there was a cheap (but genuine) offer for buying Kaspersky and, since it always seems to get good reviews, I thought I'd give it a go. GOTD installs are the only problem so far so I'm not going to chuck Kaspersky away, shrug my shoulders and say "that was a waste of money", especially since I only install something from GOTD a couple of times a month (I have visited this site daily for years so most of the downloads available are not new to me).
