   Installation process to start Windows 8

   Windows Media Player was nowhere to be seen until I slipped in a CD, at which point it appeared and I pinned it to my desktop taskbar. To get it on my Start screen, I had to navigate my mouse to the bottom right of the screen and bring up the search option and search for it.

   I discovered Microsoft has removed DVD playback from Media Player and made Media Center, which will also play DVDs and record TV if you have an internal TV tuner or an external USB one, a paid for app. Roxio Creator 2012 includes an app that plays DVDs anyway, so that is all right.

   I'm sure there are genuine downloads -- just not sanctioned by MS. :)

   From what I've read the regular ISOs will work as a trial for 90 days, but I've also read that the regular ISO may need to have a file deleted or modified before you an install it without a key -- haven't tried yet so no confirmation if either statement is correct, or dependent on when/where downloaded etc.

   The MS official evaluation versions are freely available -- just got the Enterprise version to poke around a bit -- but they expire 90 days after install, won't run beyond August, & can't be activated should you try to enter a key -- have to remove & install fresh -- though workarounds may appear, e.e. you could allegedly downgrade from win7 Ult &/or Pro trials to HP & activate the HP version using a key you bought. And you're supposed to be able to upgrade the 2nd preview to the regular win8 [RTM] & activate it without losing your installed apps & such.

   I'm sure there are genuine downloads Yes but hard to find it took a long time to find one for windows 7 US said go to new zealand said go to US
