OxygenOffice Professional (was: OpenOffice.org Premium) is an enhanced version of OpenOffice.org what is a multi-platform office productivity suite. OxygenOffice Professional contains more extras like templates, cliparts, samples, fonts and VBA support.

i am curious, freewarefan, i have openoffice portable on my laptop, i still have to try out the ashampoo office package that you pointed out, but do you happened to know how this oxygen office professional is compared to staroffice, that is being offered by google for free?

I have not downloaded, nor used StarOffice, so I cannot say, ender. I'm pretty sure that OOP is just a vamped up version of OpenOffice.org, just comes with more bells and whistles.
But again, never having used StarOffice, I am not qualified to answer your question. Maybe someone else reading this thread has the experience to answer you.
If all else fails, do what I do... When in doubt, install and try. You can always uninstall if you don't care for it, whatever "it" happens to be.... :-)

Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't "Star Office" (From Sun) the original name for "Open Office" or at the very least, was used as the basis for Open Office? I remember Star Office from the late 90's when I was using OS/2 and Star had an OS/2 version available. I think Star was 100% free back then.
Star Office = Proprietary (Purchased by Sun from StarDivision - a German Company in August 1999)
In July 2000, Sun releases OpenOffice.org (Based on Star Office) - OpenOffice.org is released as "Open Source".
(BTW - Sun had to officially change the name to OpenOffice.org due to legal requirements as "OpenOffice" was already being used/owned).
"Oxygen Office Professional was formerly known as Open Office Premium, so basically a modified version of Open Office with lots of extras that remind me of the extras that ship with Microsoft Office. The extras include more than 3400 images including clip arts and photos, more than 90 fonts, templates and sample documents, VBA support, better PDF support and lots more."
