   Do you have issues with 'The Treasures of Mystery Island: The Gates of Fate'

   If you have any problems running the giveaway The Treasures of Mystery Island: The Gates of Fate please post your issues here. Towards the end of the game giveaway there are fewer community members visiting the comments page associated with this game, so it's a good idea to post your issues here as well (just in case the game moderator {i.e. me} can't answer the problem. Your questions are more liley to be seen if you post here as well. Once the giveaway s over it's even more important.

   There will be issues such as not being able to install the game or download it that can't be solved once the giveaway is over; however, if you managed to download the giveaway, before the end of the giveaway, and that includes large files that may still be downloading, you can often still activate the game so long as you attempt to do so within the next 1 or 2 hours.

   Mine downloaded and installed with no problems. Thank you GGoD, I always enjoyed these The Treasures of Mystery Island games. I'm a little nervous about using all that dynamite LOL.

   BTW, yet again I tried to add a comment but it wouldn't recognize the code and wouldn't let me enter the comment.

   I thought I'd post this here rather than on my comments on the game itself. I've found that with the last few games from GAOTD that I've downloaded, I've had to set up a desktop shortcut to them - is this what I would expect? If I download a game from somewhere like MyPlayCity, a shortcut seems always to be created. I'm certainly not complaining, just asking the question. In fact, I'm more than happy to create my own shortcut, but I wonder if all the people who download from GAOTD are content to find the application that's the correct one to create the shortcut from.

   Hi Littlemaggit

   The setup or install files for the games are the part that's usually customized for many of the game sites, what with toolbars & such. Then with sites like BigFish the setup files include the trial & registration stuff BigFish uses. My impression or guess is that there just isn't a separate generic installer available that GOTD could include. The only big exception I've seen myself is Playrix, where many of the games my wife's bought are downloadable as a full installer, as are their GOTD offers.

   Game downloaded perfect however, it will not install. I've rebooted computer, tried 7zip and winrar, cleaned computer and internet and the program still doesn't install.
   Please tell me what am I doing wrong and what should I do for it to install correctly?

   Hello Gaming Granma, do you get any error messages? Try checking the event log. (Type event viewer and/or event log in the search field) after trying to install the game. Hopefully you'll find an error message.

   Failing that it could be your security software. Try making an exception, or temporarily turn off your security software. (Giveaways are throughly checked for malware; there has never been a game giveaway infected since the game giveaway project started on the 2nd Dec 2006), so i'd say it's pretty safe to turn it off temporarily.

   p.s. I presume you are clicking on the orange file (with the key symbol) rather than the setup.gcd file.

   Clean Lighthouse glass first, then the last valve will be available.
