I just found your site this evening, and downloaded your Freebie of the day, All my software.zip. It downloaded fine, and activated, but installed a 30-day trial copy, and wants me to buy the software. Did I do something wrong?
I also downloaded the game, and all went well, but it had an activate.exe file also included beyond the readme and setup files. Am I missing something in the setup of Allmysetup.zip?

There should be an activate.exe file, run it and it should activate the program. Make sure the program is not running when you do this. At least that is how the other downloads worked, I'm not sure about this one, because I haven't downloaded it.

Run the activate.exe first. Then run the program. By running the activate.exe, the necessary registration info is entered into the computer.
You can also run it afterwards. If you do, you may just need to restart the program. Worst case scenario, run activate.exe and reboot.

There are but two files in the directory: Setup.exe and readme.txt. There is no "Activate.exe" file in the unzipped package. Did someone forget to add it?
I just used the contact form, asking about this very thing, as I, too, just found this site while searching for sites to write about in an upcoming series of posts in my blog about software and such.
From all I read on the site, in the "about us" and in the "for developers" page, it said the software is "free" -- but then the TOS in the actual install package for "All My Software" says you must buy it if you keep it past 30 days. As the FTC has determined in the past, like I said in the question I sent to the GOTD folks, if it says free, that means there's no money leaving my hand.
I love those commercials on TV, especially, that say, "FREE, you just pay $19.99 shipping and handling." Nope, I don't. If it's free, it's free. Then again, for a 6 lb. package to be sent via USPS' Priority Mail (3-day delivery from from the East Coast to the West Coast of the U.S.), it cost me less than $7 USD yesterday. But some huckster on TV wants almost three times that amount, to send it via slowpoke mail, but marking up his profits for "handling" expenses. Right.

Today's game is one of the few that has only "2" files. "ReadMe" and "Setup.exe". The "readme" files that has instructions to follow. You must activate the day of the give away. The website also explains this. Good luck, you'll enjoy today's game. There are no strings attached.

Ah, but you see, lwbjag, I did activate it, as well, immediately after download and install. There was more than three hours left for the day's download and giveaway. It wasn't a game, it was a utility.

I noticed with most of this software Scoop0901, that if you open the software during the activation, the software will claim trial. That is because the software was opened up before the Windows registry was updated with the registration. The fix is to close the application and reopen. It should be fine then. <grin>

Thanks for the follow-up, BillW50, but that didn't seem to work, either. I've shut it down and re-started it several times. Still no dice. :(

Did you have an Internet connection when you installed it? As it required so, when it activates the registration. Plus there are some security software out there that may block registry changes and thus it won't be activated (registered) either.
