Does GOTD check the software packages that the various companies allow them to offer for spyware, malware, viruses, etc., before posting them? I think it's a wonderful concept, but I'd hate to think I could be downloading potential problems.

Yes they do. And not to be mean, but this is like the 85th copy of this question and I have asked GOTD to put the image on the download page but I got no responce.
Look at the green box on the front page under a screenshot of the currently offered program.
This image is on all the software when it is given away for the day

GOTD is ALWAYS free of threats, the programs are ALWAYS free of any threats.
How could this get any better?(except maybe some of the program suggested could go up :0)WAAAAIIIIITTTTTT...Now I have a question similar:

No offense taken & I apologize for being #85, but I did through the various forums before posting and failed to find numbers 1-84. I am glad to hear they handle it responsibly.
