   Hi all,

   I'm new to GAOTD, and I'm having a hard time downloading any of the giveaways. The past 2 days I tried to download the programs given and can't get past the setup. I download the the program, I extract all the files, I double click on activate, it confirms that I have activated it and then my IE comes up with GAOTD page comes up and says to sign up for the newsletter. After that I go back and double click on Setup.exe and nothing happens. I right click on the Setup.exe and click run as: and a dialog box comes up and says run with current admin, I click yes and then an error box comes up and says Setup.exe is already running. But I can't get to the installation part of these programs. Please help, am I doing something wrong? Or is there another way I need to be downloading these programs? Or am I destined to miss out on these great and wonderful programs? =(

   Can you get to the "other" running setup.exe by using either Alt-Tab or Task Manager to switch to them?

   Have you tried closing down all the other programs (including your browser) between running activate and setup?

   I've closed down all other programs when I clicked on setup. I tried using the task manager and that didn't help. As for Alt-Tab, I haven't tried. I'll have to try when I get home from work. Thanks for replying BuBBy. If there are any other suggestions that would be great, I feel so lost.

   Lifestylesm,
   I'm afraid I can't help with your IE problem, as I use Firefox all the time now. I've rarely had problems downloading from this site (from the mirror link) with this browser.
   Hope someone can be more help to you.

   Vista SP2: ShellExecuteEx failed; code 1155

   if I execute a setup as an user without adminrights I get:
   ShellExecuteEx failed; code 1155
   This happens if the setup extracts some file with name *.tmp and tries to
   run them.

   now to lifestylesm Try a clean like CCleaner or go to run ' %temp% ' & Delete may be more time be for runing setup.exe firewall ? A-V ? AntiSpyware ? ThreatFire? some info may help is it XP Vista Win 7 Win98 ? did you click unlock ? IE off line & close IE Firefox be for setup

    Hi Mike,

    The giveaway must be downloaded and installed on the day of the giveaway (within the 24 hour period from the start of the giveaway). As Graylox points out; if you miss the giveaway period you will then have to wait till it's rerun (assuming that it will rerun) or purchase the software. you can always try contacting the developer of software you'd really like to try explaining that you missed the giveaway. Some developers can be quite generous, but don't assume they are going to give you anything, or even reply to your emails.
