   The new GGOTD for Sunday Oct. 7, 2012 is the second game I've downloaded where the mouse pointer doesn't show up. I'm unable to do anything with the game, because I can't select any options,... I uninstalled the first one when this happened,... but now, after this happening for the second time, I'm wondering if there is something I need to do to make my mouse pointer appear so I can play the game? Any suggestions?

   On the first one, I tried changing screen size, etc. even though I already have it on the largest display possible. I selected each and every one, from 800x600 to 1680x1050.

   You may have a customized mouse setting that is incompatible with the game. Change your mouse settings back to the default and try again. Some examples for reference:

   Cursor not visible.

   Screen pointer not visible in Windows Media Center
   

   Mouse cursor not visible at all, Vista x64 SP2.

   Only to add to what ChrisS already kindly posted.

   In short:
   type main.cpl in the search (win7) or run box (xp) and press enter to launch mouse properties.
   Go to the pointer options tab.In most cases disabling cursor trails will solve the problem.
   If you still want cursor trails (...)you might be able to revert to this setting when choosing "custom" cursor in the game options of "the lost Inca Prophecy"

   Try going into compatibility mode and disabling visual themes and/or display scaling. Also update your graphics drivers and ensure you have the latest version of Direct X. (DX9.0c, or if you have a compatible video card either DX10 (Vista) or DX 11 (Win 7)

   Thanks everyone. I'll try these to see if any of them work. I'm using Windows 7. it's a wireless mouse. I don't use trails, or anything like that but I will change everything to default to see if that helps. I'll try the other suggestions if not.
