That sort of thing has happened to my dad & others we know -- as bad as any accident can be, lying there helpless hoping someone will notice has got to be among the worst, if not the worst experience.
I can't say "hope she gets well soon" -- it'll obviously take treatment [surgery?] & rehab & time -- but I do hope it goes as smoothly & painlessly as possible.

Thanks Mikiem. We are making a frmal complaint. not much else we can do. My wifes mother is recovering from surgery. Thankfully they didn't have to replace the joint, just pinned the bone. I've seem hip replacement surgery when I spent some time in theatre. The ball joint is literally screwed down into the shaft of the femur. They have to ensure the angle it exactly right otherwise problems can occur.
She will be in hospital for 2 weeks. They had just booked a six week holiday to the Canary Islands starting in four weeks time. Not sure whether that will have to be cancelled yet. Depends on her recovery. She's in her mid 60's so recovery is slower.
