I believe Houdini Apprentice HD would be excellent as a Give Away of the Day.
Available for $99, barely different from Houdini Master... Great value!

I really want to see AllMyNotes Organizer 2.20 Deluxe edition : although AllMyNotes Organizer Deluxe 1.35(Build 214) was given as GAOTD but the new and improved v 2.20 Deluxe edition looks lot better. Their is a free version as well giving the Activation key would make it a Deluxe Edition.
Also My Notes Center 1.5.3 is a similar program with lots of features . This would be a great Giveaway.Posted 14 years ago # -
Flash Decompiler Gold could be a great program for GOTD. Allows you to convert those .swf files into .exe files with no problem! also lets you decompile flash videos and see the contents within in the registered version!

The next time you want to offer a DVD ripper program, see if you can get Magic DVD Software to participate. Their Magic DVD Ripper is the best I've ever seen.

Webroot® Spy Sweeper® would be the best if we would get it for free for 3 years license = Total Cost $49.95.

I'd like to see RoboForm Pro given away.
There is a free version (which I use) and it saves me a lot of time. The Pro version could save me even more.
Posted 14 years ago # -
I've been wanting robo for a while, but since the updates have to track changes in the browsers.. and browser adapters work with a narrow release range- it might be tough to set up a giveaway.
I wouldn't mind seeing where aptedit pro has gotten to.
love another chance at aston shell or menu again.

Fences Pro. http://www.stardock.com/products/fences/downloads.asp
Small, simple program. Similar price to other GOTD offerings. I evaluated it a couple of years ago and thought it was useless for myself as I am a very minimalist desktop user (- I try and remove all the icons from my desktop as much as possible). But the other day I setup a couple of EEEPC's for my kids and remembered this little utility. Worked like a charm for arranging the kids software icons on the desktop.

I missed on that one..:)Posted 13 years ago # -
a re-run of Sticky Password version 5.0 ? You didn't miss it... it never happened.
(It was version 4 that was the Giveaway. Version 5 had not been officially released at that point).

I'd love to see a giveaway of PolyEdit Word Processor. I'm using the Lite (free) version now, and it is by far the best word processor I've used, and I tried all the ones I could find in my search for a MS Word replacement. One thing that is quite possibly my favorite about PolyEdit is that it uses tabs for the different documents, instead of multiple windows!
http://www.polyedit.com/word-processor.html
Here's some of the "key features", as listed on their website.
* Amazingly small, reliable, and fast word processor that requires very little resources to run
* Editing environment includes all the standard word processing features, plus support for embedded images and objects
* Tabbed document interface with intuitive docking for better productivity
* Support for numerous document formats and encodings: RTF, MS Word 95-2007, Corel WordPerfect, Unicode (UTF-8 and UTF-16), MS-DOS, Unix, etc.
* Export to HTML and PDF
* Extensible with various add-ons
* Intuitive and highly customizable user interface
* Advanced search and replace functions with support for regular expressions
* Useful tools for information management: Catalog, Snippets, etc.
* Enhanced security features (military-grade 448-bit encryption)Posted 13 years ago # -
I would like to see a rerun of the jigsaw puzzle games given away earlier this year. Especially the Christmas Puzzles, so appropiate for this time of year.
Thanks,

I would very much appreciate it if you could give away Metasploit Pro

A suggestion... how about offering SignPLOT by Buchanan Computing for free?
It's specialist stuff, but useful for those going into the graphic design industry or those who work in it.
(apologies for the image size and overflow)
Disclaimer: I don't work for them, but roadgeeks have often mentioned this software!Posted 13 years ago # -
Dear GOTD
May I propose the
BrainWave Generator
[ http://www.bwgen.com/ ] as the future giveaway offer?
The newest evaluation version [available for free download & testing] of this program was prepared at 02.22.2005, so it is more than 5 years ago! Despite of that this software still costs $40!!!
One can say that this is nearly the abadonware software, but it is not true [no legal free version]. This software was primary developed for Windows 95 & Pentium 90Mhz processors, so it is really old piece of software. On the other hand Windows XP is also fully supported. Moreover the evaluation version works well on Windows Server 2003 R2 system and I think it will NOT cause any problems on every Windows system newer than famous Windows 95. This is really a simple software that should work on every system [I think that even Linux+Wine can run it without any problems].
Summing up, this is my small proposal of a non-problematic software that may be interesting for other users [some of them can use it seriously while others can at least try it for fun or test]. It can be also the nice refreshing for Noromaa Solutions Oy.
About the program: it is used to create & play binaural beats. You can make your own or import/export [in full version] prepared presets and share them with others. It has many claimed positive health features, as described on the main page.
With best wishes & Merry Christmas [in advance]

I would like to suggest EarthDesk. http://www.xericdesign.com/earthdesk.php
Not really useful for anything, but quite good to look at.
Text from the site:
EarthDesk replaces your Macintosh desktop or Windows wallpaper with a stunning, real-time dynamic image of our planet continuously updating in the background while you work. With up to 4 maps, 11 projections and 10,000 cities, EarthDesk is truly a map-lover's dream.
