    In pathology lights refer to the lungs and thorax. Wen a student I worked at a pathology laboratory for six months as part of my year placement and regularily went for a long run each lunch break (being a student I was given agenerous 90 minutes)After the run I used to shower in the mortuary which was attached to the path lab. I remeber asking a lot of questions of the mortuary attendant because the bodies I often saw opened up on the mortuary slabs were facinating. On one occassion he had what looked like a hat box. I asked what it was so he opened the lid and pulled out a set of lungs with the thorax attached. He told me they were called lights. I can't remember why though but I think it was because lung tissue is a lot lighter in weight and color to other tissues found in the body.

    Rabbit, Your story is interesting, but it leaves me feeling a little strange. Maybe, I'm not cut out to be curious about the human internals. No, I don't think so. Seeing wounds, if they are someone else's bothers me. My own do not affect me that way, in the least. It's funny.
