   For a limited time(?) Greenman gaming is giving away Age of Fear for free. Then if you so choose, until October 1st you can trade in AoF for an $8 discount on XCOM: Enemy Unknown.

   Disclosure: I participated in editing the English for AoF as English is a second (or third) language for it's author, Leszek Sliwko, and other writers. Here is the website for AoF. There are videos of the game on the website and a description of this turn based game is below. If you have any interest in this type of game I would encourage you to at least try it before trading it in if you want the XCOM discount. I assume that Les made this available for little or nothing to promote AoF 2 which is currently in development (and to which I again assisted on the English).

   Age of Fear: The Undead King is a fantasy turn-based strategy. The game features a novel battle system, two campaigns with solid fantasy stories and very flexible multi-player and skirmish modes.

   The story takes place in an untamed fantasy land, where three forces: the Human Kingdom, the Greenskins' Horde and the Undead Legion - are fighting for domination and survival.

   You will encounter quick skirmishes, where wise unit's cooperation is essential. You will visit distant lands either as a honorable knight or an evil necromancer. You will conquer cities and destroy ancient evil!

   Thanks Campy. This sounds like something I would like. It also reminded me I have some Greenman gaming games I have to either re-download or to find out where they are.I just found them in my windows.old in users/appdata/local/Green Man Gaming so it is time to cut and paste.

   Thanks for the heads up.

   Went ahead and got it only to find you have to install yet another client (this one clled Capsule). I have three games from GMG, (Age of Fear, Necrovision and Diciples II Gold. all three games are excellent, but as I already have them on Steam (apart from this latest offering) I probably won't be installing Capsule.

   I want the latest X-Com game but will probably get it via Steam. The pre purchase extras so far include two extra rewards with a third possible reward depending on the numbers of pre-orders made for the game. So far they are at 46% for the third reward which is detailed below:

   Elite Soldier Pack

   Sorry, I should have mentioned the client. They use it to control their program of game trade ins.

   Some may still want to consider GMG for XCOM: EU. They are basically selling the Steam Key for $39.99 which is $10 cheaper than on Steam. You still get the Reward 1 (see WR's note), but don't get reward 2 (the TF2 extras). Reward 3 (Civ V) hasn't been unlocked on Steam yet although I expect they will get enough pre-purchases that it will be. If you already have Civ V, are willing to wait for it to go on sale or for some crazy reason don't want it, they you may prefer the cheaper deal on GMG. Also, through October 1st you should be able to trade in AoF for an additional $10 discount.

   Thanks for the update Campy. I must admit, I tend to ignore most of the other gaming sites these days (apart from Desura and Gamersgate)

   That's interesting. I keep forgetting some of GMG's games are Steamwork games. Someone needs to keep reminding me, lol.
