I found this site - http://play.gamepacks.com/ by accident just a few minutes ago. It says "Full Premium Games 100% Free - No Catch". Does it include Adware? It mentions a possibility of homepage/search engine hijacking and other software but says they can be declined.
I found a game I would like but don't want to touch it unless it's clean.

Click on "Affiliates" and read the warnings of WOT. It seems SweetPacks has a dark history.
Maybe they chose to make a new website to hide the old reviews.
But I may be totally wrong. At least they tell about their add-ons.
I would install their games in a sandbox and check thoroughly.
The question if their releases are legit can only be answered by the original developers or publishers.
A lot of websites sell games or keys - mostly Steam - they gathered cheap or even free from bundles or one-time giveaways.
It's a big flourishing grey market.

I did find the same game elsewhere that I know is reputable (Zylom). It's a "gift" product and that means ad-supported. I've not done them before but I'll give them a try. Worse case scenario -- I get irritated and Revo the darn thing!

They do try to hijack, but you can skip past it. The games are ad supported, when you play them.
Right now, I'm not happy with Zylom either. When I finally got the game to install, it wanted me to log in to play online. Why install on your PC if you have to log in to play online?
I revoed it but now I'm waiting for them to answer that question for me.

It is because of the ads. They have to know which ads were played and download the current ads so that they advertisers will pay them.
No - it's not because of the ads. I managed to get one of the games I was working on from Gamehouse and it's ad supported but I do not have to log in. I do have to have an internet connection, of course and it's got problems. Lots of script errors but I did not have to log in!

With respect to the grey market selling steam keys. I noted on the Indie Gala site yesterday that they were advising consumers who wanted to buy more bundles using the same email to change the email for every 20 bundles they purchased. That would point to some people trying to make a profit by reselling the keys. I know of one Steam member in my friends list who resells Indie bundles at a profit.
I have usually already bought the games we find in these bundles, but I still buy them, usually to give away to family & friends (and sometimes even strangers that happen to beg on my Steam profile).
