It would be AMAZING if you could get in touch with Adobe and get their Photoshop graphics editing program!
Just joined the site, so hello everyone, I look forward to checking back every day, and someday hopefully finding Photoshop! :)

I'm a student, and the best Adobe will offer me is a discount - you are NOT gonna get this for free (except maybe the "Elements" program which comes bundled with certain hardware - still not exactly free).
The program is huge, too. Not a likely candidate for GAOTD. I'd even go as far to say that any program which might be considered "industry standard" simply ain't gonna be here.
Your right Jucati. Since Adobe has been around a long time, its highly unlikely that they would do a giveaway on Photoshop. Keep checking donk because there are several other companies building on the pdf format.
My observations on what software normally ends up on GOTD is typically programs that are niche and not mainstream or well known. Companies that participate typically need the exposure and advertising to get their software "out there".
Most software is of a downloadable size (eg. small - less than 40MB) for everyone. The software is normally only available as a download (you won't find it displayed in glossy boxes on shelves in your local computer store).
Companies like Microsoft or Adobe really don't need to give away their products to raise public awareness that they "exist". They are the industry and marketing leaders. It is the other "David" products that need this site so the can compete against the "Goliaths" of the software world.
Remember also - this site isn't a "McDonalds drive through" for computer software you want to avoid paying for. The companies that say yes to a giveaway, will likely be those that stand to gain something from the exchange, whether it be exposure, customers, reviews, suggestions or (God forbid) beta testers.
This forum section is "Good software we (GOTD) need to know about", not "Software I want but I don't want to pay for".
People complain about Doublegames in GGOTD. How about finding some quality software and gaming titles (and companies) that could do with some exposure and a leg up, to compete against the "goliath" companies that are household names but probably no greater than their competitors in any area other than market share and price.
Hah,
I was going to ask if we could have Adobe Photoshop as a joke, to point out how unrealistic some people's expectations are--but...
I wonder how much use it is to request certain programs. I mean, how much of a choice in what to supply each day the GOTD team actually have. In reality, is it often a case of a Double Games program or nothing?
That's why the list of very negative comments is starting to worry me. I'm grateful if I get a good program free per month, but I wonder if all the negativity will serve to kill off the site in time--at least the games part of it.
P.S. Could we have The Sims and all the expansion packs, please
People are funny. I'm like you maz, if I don't need it I don't download. Why gripe.
As I mentioned some time ago - the best giveaways I have seen have been the "suprises". Programs from companies I never knew existed, who are putting out something original or something better than everyone else has done it before.
I love it when I find a program, and ask myself "OMG why hasn't someone thought of this before?"
Many of the programs, sadly aren't all that inspiring. Often they are just a copy of the same program someone else did before - just changing the title and the desktop icon. Doublegames is a example of this.... "same game, new icon".
C'mon surely there is some little startup out there doing something really cool...
Or have all the good ideas already been taken?
Thanks for the comments guys!
I didn't really expect a $500 program for free, haha. It was just sort of a wishful idea.
If anybody else is looking for a free Photoshop like program, you could try the Gimp ( http://www.gimp.org/ ). It's free and can do just about the same things.
I am need to get Photoshop for a class I am taking in College, but I think its kinda a rip off that the company has this "monopoly" on the Graphics design and can charge hundreds of dollars for such a program.
I have been able to complete all assignments, almost the same way too, using The Gimp!
What BuBBy said makes complete sense too, they are the industry leader, so they probably would not need to "market" their product much, since "everybody knows their name".
Again, it was just a suggestion, maybe quite unrealistic, but a suggestion nonetheless. :) Looking forward to some great giveaways! If only I'd found this site about 3 days sooner XD
