Jewel Quest 3 is free on GameFly for those with a Game Fly account. You don't need to be a paid GameFly subscriber. It works if you had converted a Direct 2 Drive account.

The way it worked for me...
Buying the game required setting up an acct. along with credit card info [for stuff like this I use a card I got from a MIR rather than taking a chance with regular bank info]. At that point I got a download links for their client set up -- I also got 3 e-mails from Game Fly, 2 with the same link for their client setup.
Running the ~20 MB client setup adds an install of Adobe AIR if you don't have it already -- note that the version installed will need updated -- and installs the Game Fly Digital Client app... it's similar in concept to the Big Fish app where you buy, install, & activate games but once that's done you don't have to use it.
Signing into your account with the client you can now download the Jewel Quest III setup app at ~170 MB -- by default it's stored under My Documents, & will run OK in Windows where the client has never been installed/run. By default installation's performed using the Game Fly client, also under the My Documents folder. Game installation also includes a Direct X install. Running the game for the 1st time you get an activation screen where you again enter your Game Fly acct. info -- can't swear to it but it appears activation is keyed to your hardware, though multiple installs using your login info are possible [as usual I 1st installed/tested in a VM before installing the game on my wife's PC].
The installed game's folder holds ~75 MB. The 176 MB folder with the game's setup files is left in place. Jewel Quest III started & seem to run OK in my XP Mode VM as well as in win7 64 bit HP.

Either it's no longer available or it's not available to UK members. My Gamefly account is basically all of the games I purchased from Direct 2 Drive.
I've not purchased any games from them directly yet, (and am unlikely to if they aren't commited to giving a fair deal to all customers) What really annoys me about some of the games I purchased from Direct 2 Drive several still haven't been transferred over and I'm unable to play them (Rise of Flight and the Iron cross edition plus DCS: Black Shark {thankfully I have Black Shark on Steam too})

region restricted.

Just checked & it's still live... If you can't see it perhaps try a proxy? Maybe something here would help?
http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/access-bbc-iplayer-online-video-internationally-free/Not sure if you'd need to use another account or not -- don't know whether Game Fly is set up to cross reference the address in your existing account to whatever regional filters. I also don't know if when you activate the game they check your ip address to verify your location. Shouldn't cost you anything but your time to try at any rate. :)
So far my wife loves the game & has several hours into it already.

Thanks mikiem2 for that info. I just tried myself, got to the credit card etc. entry screen and decided I don't want the game that badly, especially if that is just the first step. I hadn't used gamefly since they converted over direct2drive accounts and I guess the info didn't transfer over, which I guess when you think about it is kind of a good thing. Now they don't have it until I actually want to buy something from them.

If you're willing to put up with (or figure out how to circumvent) the opening of your browser closing a game (and be careful to block home-page hijack during install), get this game for free from MyPlayCity. No overhead - no extra files - just the game!

Thanks Mikiem, to be honest I don't need a copy myself as I've already got it. I wanted it for my children.

Thanks -- I'll take a look because there's a couple of family members who would like this game as well. FWIW I've found many games have 2 .exe files, one for the game & one that's a launcher -- skipping the launcher sometimes does away with the extras -- sometimes just deleting the Internet shortcuts in the game's folder works too.

Confirmed -- run the game's .exe file [the one with the proper icon], & delete shortcuts.
