Dear people of GAOTD, I'm not happy with the NextUp.com policy to offer a -most probably- stripped up version for free -at your place- and then almost forcing oneto buy the REAL one, simply because you followed in all your innocence one of NextUp's recomendations to use some other, better voices, for which you really have to pay (I paid $90 for two new voice-files). The thing is, the new extra additions you buy, simply will not work on the stripped version: they want you to have a fully registered one. NextUp should really warn potential buyers of additions NOT to buy because of this; they should start by not advertising at least. And, the team of GAOTD should I least know that this happens/happened and, prevent this in the future.

When they posted the software little brother to the south, I'm sure they thought that people like me that was to lazy to read (LOL) would be using it. I'm also sure that no one anticipated a guy that had already purchased 2 language modules would happen across this giveaway.
I see and feel your frustration but have you told them completely your situation? Read the other thread you started, there may be a solution there.

Just for all of you:
Kenn White of NextUp.com answered my mail regarding not functioning voicefiles.
He send me a little program to -officially- register TextAloud. After running this program TextAloud was registered and I could unzip and install the new Voice-files.
Thanks really!Posted 17 years ago #
