   The creators of Space Quest, The 2 Guys from Andromeda are on Kickstarter!

   The Two Guys from Andromeda, creators of the Space Quest adventure game series (from Sierra in the '80s and '90s), have opened up their Kickstarter campaign for their new space adventure game. And they've got some nice voice talent lined up as well, including:

   Gary Owens - Narrator from SQ4 and SQ6, voice of Space Ghost, Laugh-in, and many many others in a long and distinguished career.Rob Paulsen - Pinky from Pinky and the Brain, Yakko from Animaniacs, Raphael the Ninja Turtle, and multiple characters from Monkey Island among many other characters he has voiced.Robert Clotworthy - Jim Raynor from StarCraft 1 & 2, Senator Evran & Supreme Chancellor from Star Wars: The Old Republic, and Narrator of The History Channel's Ancient Aliens series, Big Bang Theory, etc.Ellen McLain - GLaDOS from Portal 1 & 2, Overwatch from Half-Life 2, Administrator from Team Fortress 2, Witch from Left for Dead 2 and many more.John Patrick Lowrie - Sniper from Team Fortress 2, Sword Control from Halo Reach, Citizens from Half-Life 2 and author of Dancing with Eternity.

   Haha, I know what you mean about drained wallets......

   I've backed nearly 20 projects since I first noticed the project back in March (though I have found some emails from way back in 2010, which I'd ignored).

   The one's I'm really looking forwards to are Wastelands 2, Takedown, Shadowrun Returns, Starlight Inception, Grim Dawn, Bacillus and FTL - Faster than Light.

   I haven't backed Carmageddon, Kitaru, Conquest 2: Vyrium Uprising or Drifter: A Space Trading Game yet but I will when I can afford to. Basically I'm in the red in my bank account, so will have to wait. Thankfully those projects have weeks to run yet. :)

   There have been a few that I backed that didn't make it such as the Game Wiki. The problem I forsee is that there are more and more projects coming up, far too many for me to be able to afford, so some projects that I'd like to sponsor won't be; and I'm sure a lot of others will feel the same.

   It's a similar situation to the Humble Bundles/Indie Royale/Indie Gala bundles. Those responsible are releasing so many now that I just can't keep pace. (Plus many of the games now being included have already been part of previous humble bundles for example the latest bundle includes Osmo, that was included in one of the earlier bundles.

   I tend to already own most of the games that these bundles package as I've been a firm supporter of the Indie movement for quite some time so have never minded paying full price as I see it as support and hopefully will see better games being released from them.

   Also I got fed up of buying games from the likes of Big Fish Games, Gamehouse, the now defunct Reflexive Games and Alawar; all of which (apart from Reflexive) churn out copies of their big successes over and over i.e. HOG's TM games and Match Threes. Don't get me wrong, I love a good Match 3 (especially if it's tied in with other genres like RPG's) and some HOG's for example the Dream Chronicles series and even some TM games such as the Farm Frenzy games from Alawar, though after the first 3 versions I though it was getting out of hand. They must have released around 10 different variations of the game since I beta tested the first ones though I can't complain as I got them free being a beta tester).

   Yeah; There are definitely too many kickstarters going right now, especially for classic adventure games. You would think that all of these guys would space their stuff out for maximum success but I guess everyone is just caught up in the moment :D I have only backed the 2 guys and Double Fine so far because I just don't have a good income right now but eventually I'll back more.

   The 2 guys mean the world to me because of Space Quest and Double Fine are just rock stars that can do no wrong. (Especially with Ron Gilbert)

   Now we're talking. I was thinking about other Sierra franchises when I saw the Leisure Suit Larry kickstarter. I did not donate to that one as I'm not a fan, but I *was* a fan of the Space Quest series. I realize that this won't be a SQ game, but still- a space adventure by their writers is sure to be a blast. Count me in.

   http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/spaceventure/two-guys-spaceventure-by-the-creators-of-space-que/posts There is new info about what this Space Venture by the 2 Guys from Andromeda (Ahem: The creators of the epic Space Quest series) and also a teaser bit of concept art in the form of an intergalactic postcard :D More importantly: The 2nd Prototype that's being designed to give a taste of the look and feel and comedy of a Space adventure game made by the 2 guys is about to be released to the public in a few days (available for download on most browsers including Firefox) Check it out!
