I just discovered the joys of Portable Applications where you can have firefox/thunderbird on a flashdisk or in your stuff... Best thing is it is free :)

Hello,
There is another program called Mojopac that does the same thing. I run it on a 60 GB USB HD and it runs like a dream. The list of applications you can run on it is simply amazing and you can play the latest graphic intensive 3-d games on it without any slow down at all. You can even install Mojopac on an ipod if you want.
I install almost all GAOTD and GGOTD on the little hard drive and when I go to my friend's house they run without a problem, as long as they have the hardware to run it, of course.
On the downside it is not free or open software and currently does not run on Vista. If you are interested go to
http://www.mojopac.comMicrosoft and ScanDisk have plans to release similar software and hardware which will definitely run on Vista. Microsoft will develop the software and ScanDisk the hardware. Here is Microsoft's press release:

Hello,
Alexiussg, besides Microsoft software contribution, ScanDisk is building customized hardware to run it, which I am sure will be USB. I know Microsoft is notably incompetent about the Security holes vs Microsoft patches war.
I believe that with control over the hardware specifications, unlike with PC's, they might be able to become a bit more effective. I owned an X-Box when they first came out. I even beta-tested X-Box live.
I have no idea what's happened the last 4 years, but when I was into X-BOX there were hardly any problems. During the time that I used it, about, 4 years, I never heard of a disk from Microsoft to patch holes for the owners that didn't have X-Box live.

Hi Pauloparra:
For some reason, I didn't think putting sw & games in an external HD would work. My laptop HD is almost full, even though I transfered all the photos & data out, plus ½ the music too. So this will certainly be very helpful indeed!!
If there are contraindication or special precautions, would u please let me know?=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=*=
